I haven't met with a florist yet, but I am trying to decide if I want to go with a subtle pastel color scheme, go bright with flowers against a pale dress, or go exotic. Opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I think they all go well -- you just need to choose what you like most.
Personally, I did all pastels at my wedding so I prefer that. But they are all gorgeous combinations!

I'd say as long as you didn't go with white or yellow (those wouldn't contrast well enough with the dress), you could do any of the combinations.
My opinion is that bright colors would really stand out against the yelow dress.

Love that dress. Thats actually similar to the dress we are looking at for my BM. Look at dessy after 6- they have like 2 different yellows. And they have the long flowy dress.
Also check out Jasmine B2- That is the one i am leaning towards in buttercup. I think its part of the Fall 2009 line. Let me know what you think
