BM Dress cost

BM Dress cost

Hey Ladies,

I am in the process of picking out my BM dresses. I am struggling right now b/c there are a few dresses I like over $200 but feel its unfair to ask this of my BM's. I feel bad making them pay for something they are only going to wear once and could, including alt & shoes, cost them over $300.

What price range are you sticking to?

Re: BM Dress cost

i believe my BM dresses cost about $180, and that was with a 10% discount, or 20% discount because i bought my dress at the same shop...

I let my girls pick their dresses and they came in between 230-280. It is a lot but I figured since they're picking their dresses, they can pick something they may be able to wear agin.

Mine are $180 but I chose dresses that they can wear again. I didnt want to go with a typical BM dress.

Re: BM Dress cost

My BM dresses were $70 (I had a total of 4 BM's) since I was able to get them on clearance. I ordered my BM dresses from Rampage for an outdoor wedding. They were gorgeous. It was a mesh halter dress in kiwi green with gold embroidery/beading. And it was one of a kind b/c every other wedding that I've been to had the same type of BM dress and cut. I was so happy that I spent $300 (shipping/tax) for all 4 dresses instead of $200-$300 for each BM dress. The great thing about the Rampage dresses were no alterations whatsoever. It fit the BM's perfectly. Although the halter was a bit longer, it was not a prob. The BM's just pinned it back with a sparkling ornament/pin.

Mine came to about $170 after tax. They are still going to need to purchase shoes/hand bag not to mention pay for hair and makeup for the day of. I really didn't want to go over board because I know its a lot.

Re: BM Dress cost

mine were around $160, there is so much other stuff they have to pay for (shoes, hair, makeup, shower, bach party), that I didn't want to break the bank on the dress

I didn't pick mine yet but I am a BM in my friends wedding in May and my dress for hers is $240 with a discount (orig. $280 I think) without alt. I'm going to try & keep mine under that b/c we have 4 friends that are in both of our BPs within 3 months of eachoher...it's a lot

My girls' dresses are $185 after a 10% discount but before tax and alterations. After tax and alterations, their dresses should not exceed $275. But I don't want any of them paying more than $250, so I've offered to pay the difference for anyone going over $250.

Have you tried RK Bridal? I tried so hard to keep my BM dresses under $200 and found a great WTOO one that I loved. They are $215 at the local salon and only $142 at RK with their no frills program. They carry most lines, so maybe you can find one there for less.

I went with tea length which are less expensive than floor length, and they are about $180 each. I'm also giving them the option to wear silver shoes (as most of them already own a pair). You can negotiate with the bridal salons. Most will knock it down 10-15% even if you didn't get your dress from them!
