BM dress dilemma

BM dress dilemma

So my sister ordered her dress (through RK no frills) and it's too small. My mom measured her while we were there and there was a girl watching over her while she was doing it so my mom knew she was measuring correctly. According to the measurements she was a 4 so that's what we ordered. Well it doesn't zip.

So when my sister came home for Spring Break her and my mom went back to RK to figure it out and they measured her and said she's a 10. A 10??? The dress zips to her rib area... just not like the last 3 inches to the top... how is that so many sizes difference?

One of my other bms has big boobies and is all around a little bigger than my sister and she ordered an 8 and it's too big on her.

Now we don't know what to do. Do we order my sister a new dress? If so, what size? Do we order extra fabric? Is that going to cost the same as jsut ordering a new dress when you factor in the fabric and alterations?

The only problem with no frills is that they won't be held responsible for incorrect measurements. For something that drastic, someone was not measure correctly (unless your sister put on weight or has big top).

I would probably order a new dress.

I'm almost wondering if *maybe* you were looking at the wrong size chart????? Like maybe one for a different designer?

That seems like way too big of a difference.

whatever your largest measurement is, they usually order the size that corresponds to that... like if you have big boobs and the measurement would correspond to size 10, but you have a size 4 waist, theyd order the size 10, thats the only thing i can think of that happened

whatever the case, bring it to a seamstress see if theres enough material to let it out, if not order the size 10, doesnt matter if its too big because its MUCH easier to take in a dress then to let it out, so better to play it safe with the 10

Ditto. If it's *that* small of a difference, take it to a seamstress and see if it can be let out before ordering a new dress entirely!

places always try to make you order them bigger so they can make more money on alterations....shes probably somewhere between a 4 and a 10

Re: BM dress dilemma

she's away at college so she can't take the dress anywhere bc it's here

the problem is this:

her measurements (that were just taken) are 32, 28, 34
the size 4 measurements are 33, 25, 35
the size 10 measurements are 36, 28, 38

how much fabric is there usually to let out? it only needs to be let out in the waist and everything else will need to be taken in with the 4. how do seamstresses alter the dress if you give them extra fabric?

eta that she prob did gain a little weight from the time she ordered the dress to now bc of the freshman 15

Re: BM dress dilemma

i had that problem with my bm dresses from rk... they were dessy and all the dresses were huge on my girls. so we called up dessy and apparently the company has about 2 inch leeways to be bigger or smaller than the size chart. it's ridiculous. i dont believe they could have such a big difference.

according to the chart.. one of my bms was a 6 and when the dresses came in.. she tried on a 2 for one of the other girls and it was falling off her. what can we do now... it's part of the no frills.. rk just wont take responsibility.

let me know if they do something for you.. cuz i'm gonna go in and throw a b*tch fit and have them change the dresses.
