BM dress help (LONG and many issues in one!) Needed to vent!

So, went BM dress shopping for the first time with 2 of my girls, MOH and step mom yesterday ( I have 10 BM all together!!!). It didn't go as well as I would have liked.

I knew in my head that I loved this Bill Levkoff tea length dress and wanted them to try it on. The only thing is the store (RK Bridal) only carried one size in the dress. Now with 10 girls you must imagine they range from size 4-18. I can not imagine how the girls could try it on or how we could see if everyone was comfortable in it? Is this common for stores to have only one size to try one and if so how will you know if it is a suitable dress for your bp?

Anyway after trying to sqeeuze three differnt girls in this dress everyone was miserable becasue it did not fit them right, they wanted to see what it really looked like on them, ect. They all gave me a hard time and I felt bad. They wanted me to consider another dress in case it did not look good on the rest of the other girls.

In addition, I did not really think about it until we were at the store but I m thinking I should really give MOH (my sis who is only 17) her own dress. She did not like the BL anyway. She is kinda overweight and did not liek the way it would look on her. Im torn between making them feel comfortable and choosing what I want.
I do want her to have a different dress(though I thought the one I picked was flattering) but then again how do you pick a differnt style but the same exact color as the others? That seems difficult.

Most, if not all, stores that carry BM dresses will just have one size. It will be too big on the small girls, and too small on the bigger girls. They are just going to have to accept that the sample size isn't going to fit everyone. My advice would be to find the girls in your wedding party that are closest to the sample size and have them try it on and model it for all the other girls. That's how we did it for my girls, and in my case, I was the one trying on the dresses.
Of course you can pick different styles in the same color for your BM's to let them pick the style they would be most comfortable in. Or, you can have all your BM's in one dress and your MOH in a different one. It is up to you.

Thanks! Guess I didnt realize that and neither did the girls I took who tried the dresses on and all they did was complain.. annoying. As far as the MOH, I really want all the other girls to have the same style. But I worry that if MOH has a differnt style and possibly a differnt designer it will be really difficult to get her in the same color as well.

you can pick a few dresses and have the BM pick the one they want. I am picking 3 dresses all in the same color and fabric and then they can pick which one will look the best on them. If the dresses are the same color and fabric it will still look very uniform

I too have 10 girls and I had my sister and one of my BM pick out the dress and color. I figured if they liked it then the not so fuller figured ladies would look fine. I really wanted them to feel comfortable. I think it would be fine for your sister to wear her own dress as long as she feels comfortable. My sister did not want a diff dress from the rest of the girls- I didnt care either way. if you do go with 2 diff dresses, I would say to try to go with the same designer and fabric so that the colors will look more the same

if you want the MOH to have a different dress i would suggest sticking to the same color, fabric, length and designer just to make things look like they go together.

I really would rather keep everyone in the same dress. I just feel it is easier. I could give my sis a differt bouquet or something. Trying to make 10 girls happy is really really difficult so I guess the best bet is to find a few options for them and see what works best with that. So many decesions....
