BM dress nightmare - HELP!

I just want to say I really thought picking out the BM dress would be simple. The truth is what a nightmare! My BMs ages range from 21 to 48 and sizes 8 to 20. I picked out a dress at Davids in a wine color and thought it would look great. 2 hours later, they (my BMs) managed to change the dress and even the color. I was speechless. I left the store feeling so bummed

I went back every day since with a different BM trying to find a dress the 6 girls would agree on. I think I may do the 'same color' different dress thoery with David's express your options line. I figure everyone will find a dress they like.

How bad would it be if 2 or 3 of the girls ended up with the same style? Do you think the pictures will look bad?

I'm having my BM's pick any long black dress they like. I've seen this in photos before and it loked very nice.

If you go with the same color I'm sure it will be beautiful.

Your pictures will be much better if:

Everyone is happy, and they're more likely to be if they are wearing something they're comfortable in.

Everyone is wearing something flattering for their age, body type...again if they pick out the style but stay within the color range chosen this will be most likely to happen.

Do what you can to make your girls happy, they're spending the money on the dresses, and relax. Yes, it's 'your day', but your enlisting your closest females in your life to be by your side, I think it's best to offer them SOME (not total) choice in what they buy.

You see girls in different dresses more frequently than before. Actually it looks quite nice - especially when the girls are comfortable in what they are wearing. Sometimes it is a little unrealistic to find something that will look good on everybody especially with so many different body times. Maybe you can scatter the girls with the same dresses in different parts of the receiving line so that they are not all standing next to each other. Good Luck - It will all work out ok in the end

I am starting to lean towards that now. Picking one designer so the colors are the same (only 3 girls) and then letting them pick which dress they like best.

I am going today with my sister so we will see what happends then.

You keep the color you want. Unless it makes one of your girls look horrible keep it!!!

I can't get over how bridesmaids make this a major headache. Anytime I was a bridesmaid I just put on whatever they wanted. I didn't care! (Luckily all but 1 was a dress I loved)

The last bridal party I was in the other girls said what about this & what about that. I (being the MOH) finally said 'What part of THIS IS THE ONLY COLOR SHE WANTS US TO WEAR DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND' Maybe if you explain to your MOH she will relay it to the other girls.

I know exactly how you feel! But I have 12 girls! At first I had a dress picked out, and I decided I would let my sister, the MOH pick out something that she likes. Well I showed the other girls the dress, and half of them hated it and the color. So, there is ablsolutely no way that you can make everyone happy with one dress!

So I picked out the color! And picked a line of seperates. I said everyone meet me at the bridal shop and if you don't you will have last pick! Well, half of the girls showed up one day and a few of them met me on a different night, and a few went on there own. Each girl wound up picking a totally different top. And there were plenty more left over.

I was either going to go with everyone in a different top, or pick like three so it looks more consistent. But this way everyone is happy!

I suggest you pick the color and be adiment about it. That will effect your whole theme with flowers etc.... don't let them have a choice and pick a color that you hate. It is your wedding!!!!!! If you want to see pics, let me know, I will gather them together for you.

I cant tell you the relief I feel! I just need to stand my ground. Heck, if they dont like it, they have to deal with the girls on LIW!

I have three girls..two are wearing the same dress while the third (who is pregnant) will wear a different dress. All the same color - I'm sure it will look fine.

It is your wedding - so if you want a specific color then let them know you are not willing to budge on the color because you have already got a theme (with flower and so forth).
