For those of you that have BMs in different states/locations - are you just decidign on style and designer and then letting BM get dress on own?
I guess I am asking since some brides concerned with all dresses being cut from same dye lot but I think with OOT BMs- that cannot work.

I've been an OOT bm before - you get measured and send the measurements so all dresses can be cut from the same dye lot.
Order all of them together.

you have to order them all together to avoid there being a difference in color.
I was in my cousins wedding and she lives in canada, I sent her my measurements, she ordered the dress and shipped it to me so I could have it altered before the wedding.

I am a BM in a wedding for a cousin who lives out of state, and all of my BMs except one live too far away to go to the store that I want to order from. What is being done in both cases is that the girls are calling in the order after they get their measurements done at a place near them and the order is not being placed until everyone puts it in.

Two of my Three BMs are in NY and I am in MD. So I had them ALLL try everything on and get measured and send me half the money upfront so I can order everything from the same boutique. Since I am concerned with Dye lots also! I want them all to come from the same place and then I will just distribute the dresses as I go to NY once a month!! :)

even if its the same color they might be off if you order them at different times, they should all be ordered together otherwise you risk the BMs having different shades of the color you choose

WOW ladies!!! I'm impressed - you all did your homework. I've been working with BM dresses for almost 5 years now and YES! You want to have ALL the dresses ordered together, unless its a color like black which is very rarely a different shade. It is completely normal to have dresses ordered all at one salon for girls that are all over the county- I've done it many times!!!

im going to tell my OOT BMs the fabric/color/designer so they can try on styles. once everyone is settled on something, i'm going to order all the dresses at once from the same retailer.

all my BM are on LI but all over the place so my next trip down we are all going to the store so that they can all order them together i would feel better if i knew they were ordered sooner rather than later. i don't want to have dress dilemas a year from now
