So yesterday I saw a bridesmaid dress that I liked. The colors they showed me in the store did not have one that I wanted. So I checked the designers website when I got home and there are like 8 extra colors - 2 of which were what I was looking for. Which one should I believe?

Re: bm dress question
did they show you a swatch card of all the possible colors it can be ordered in? or did they just mention the colors?

Re: bm dress question
i would contact the designer directly about the color you want. it may be that the particular store you went to did not carry that color but maybe you can special order it

Re: bm dress question
Maybe they just meant they don't have them in the store or swatches available? I'd call the designer.

I'd either call the designer or look online to see where else the dress is sold and see if they carry the color you want.

Re: bm dress question
So they did show me color swatches at the salon. My real issue is that the website doesn't give a name to any of the colors. Here's the website:
When I rolled over the colors with the cursor it said the names of the colors.
Me too.

Re: bm dress question
a lot of times the designers introduce new colors and either send the new swatches late or only if the shop asks for it. Some designers don't even tell shops they have introduced new colors. They can always ask the designers for the new swatches. And of course you can order a dress in a color even if the shop doesn't have the new swatch, though colors online can be misleading.

Re: bm dress question
are you sure that they were looking at the right fabric card (i.e. satin vs. taffeta)? --typically one designer will have several different fabrics they use, and each has a different card w/ swatches. Also, they do come out with new colors for seasons. I would either try to contact the designer, or if you like the store, go back there and ask them to directly contact the vendor for you.

Re: bm dress question
I would believe the designer. Or call them to make sure they still carry it and it wasn't discontinued
