BM dress question????!!!

Hey there!
So, I am getting married at the Harbor Club in August of 11. Its an evening ceremony and reception.
I want my girls in navy...and I want knee-ish length. (NOT LONG)

My FMIL made me feel like knee length means that we are NOT having a nice wedding. I mean its def not black tie....BUT it still gonna be nice.

I just wanna know if you think shorter dresses take away from a wedding being nice??? I totally dont think so. But that might just be me!

I am sure this sounds silly... SORRY!

this is what you need to learn to say to your Mom.

Mom, you do know it's 2010 right? People don't follow the same rules they did back in _____ (insert year)

Honestly, my Mom is the same way. she has these rules in her head that baffle me. And hello, she got married in 1966!
