BM Dress Shopping Adventure

BM Dress Shopping Adventure

I have made it back, unscathed, from the great bridesmaid dress outing of 2009. I'm happy to report that all my girls did in fact show up, and everyone was able to try on the dress. The only small snafu was that the sample size was too small for one BM, so we weren't able to see her in it because she couldn't get it to come up past her waist. But those that did try it on, it looked great on everyone! I was shocked because all my girls are different sizes, shapes, and coloring, and it was universally flattering, big giant bow on top and all! Now we just need to decide where to order, and hopefully can get that settled within the next month! What a relief.

The rest of my day was semi wedding productive too. FMIL went over her side of the guest list to give me a number of STD-worthy family members (hehe), so now I FINALLY can order them. And even though FH did NOT give me the eparty pictures, I can forgive him because he asked to go to BBB of his own volition, and we spent the night scanning away. We started working on bed and bath, so we're definitely moving towards finalizing everything within the next few months.

Yay!!! I only hope that things continue to plug along like this and I'll be content

That sounds like great progress! Congratulations on the BM adventure; that is a feat in itself. I never got mine all together on one day....::sigh::

Where did you go looking for your dresses?

We went to the Wedding Center, but we will not be ordering through them most likely because they're incredibly rude.

I was searching for this post before I wrote you because I was wondering how it all turned out. Glad everyone showed up and it all went smoothly. That will be me next weekend. Do you have a pic of the dress you picked?

You felt that way? I didn't get a good feel from the guy at a bridal show. My bm however is thinking of going with them for everything because she doesn't want to have to plan much, she likes the idea of a one stop shop. She was asking me today how I felt. I told her to come on here and ask people herself, but I don't think I sold her on it. What do you think? Do you think she should go with that or stay away from them?

I honestly would tell her to reconsider that idea. No offense to any girls who do the one-stop shopping thing, but I just feel like if you're a jack of all trades, you're a master of none. I am the first to admit that we are very budget conscious, and I think we're doing a great job with our vendors by really doing our research. If you do your hw, it's entirely possible to get the same price with individual vendors. Plus just the dichotomy of the owner's hard selling, and the go eff yourself attitude of the saleswomen is really bizarre. It's like the guy is all what can I do to get you to book your entire wedding with us today, and the sales force could care less if you walk out the door. Even if your friend doesn't want to post here, try to convince her to make an account, and she's more than welcome to FM me with any questions about how to put together a wedding on a 'package' budget.

In non-business related news, here's my beautiful dress!
