How much did your girls dresses cost? I am looking at a dress that is 240 and I am afraid one girl is going to give me a hard time. I have been a BM MANY times and have always spend over 200. THanks.

Re: BM dresses
I would be upset if I was asked to spend over $200 on a BM dress too. My girls dresses were $128. Did you check netbride.com, RK No Frills or Gownfind? They may be able to get you a better price on the same dress.

I totally agree. Being a past bridesmaid all the expenses add up a lot!!! Your best bet is to call around and get the best price. A lot of places will match to get your business.

Re: BM dresses
Yeah, I wouldn't want to pay that price either. My BM dresses are $125 through netbride.com.....I'm purchasing all the dresses for the girls as part of their gifts.

Re: BM dresses
I agree - if it's over 200 it's too much. Put a pic of the dress you like up - I can look for similar styles from much cheaper designers. It's one day - one dress - look at eden bridals, impressions, davids - really, they all look so nice, there is no need to spend that much money on a dress that will probably never be worn again....

Re: BM dresses
Mine were $250. I think it depends greatly on the people in your wedding party. I asked everyone before hand if they were ok with the amt, and they were because the material was great and the dress is flattering.

I think it depends on the people in your BP. I would run it past the BM's first and then decide.

Re: BM dresses
I agree that it depends on the people in the bridal party. My dresses were $180 and came to like $202 with tax. My girls didn't have a problem with it though. Many of them felt that they would spend at least $100 -$150 on a dress for the wedding if they were a guest, so they didn't mind paying the little bit extra. I did go through a salon though. We could have gottent the same dress from netbride for cheaper but the girls didn't want to order the dress online. Good luck!

Re: BM dresses
My dresses were $190.00 everywhere I checked. I took the advice of the girls on here and checked w/ Phyllis at Bridal Elegance and she gave me the same dress for $143.00 (and she capped alterations @ $55.00) So the total at B.E. would be right around where the dress would cost other places w/o getting anything done to it.
