BM dresses???
Does anyone know of a place that custom designs BM dresses? I am hoping for all 6 of my BMs to be in the same color and fabric, but all different styles and necklines, which they have already chosen. So far, I have not found one designer that offers the right range of options in the same material. so i started thinking it might be easier to have them made.has anyone else done this? any suggestions? THANKS!

Re: BM dresses???
I am having the same problem. i have 10 girls and i know I won't be able to please all of them. So, I figured I would pick the material and color, and let them pick the style. What is the dressy/ after six line? Do they have a web site? thanks

Re: BM dresses???
kc, my cousin did this for her wedding....once you pick a color and fabric you like, the shop can show you all the dresses that come with the color/fabric...we all wore watters and watters, but we each selected our own dress from the ones that were available in the color and fabric that the bride wanted...
my BM dresses are jim hjelm and the color and fabric i chose were applicable to a lot of his dresses...this might be easier than having a different dress deisgned for each girl...

Re: BM dresses???
I have 6 BM's, three of which just had babies in the past three months and my wedding is in one month...for me I was concerned with sizes, since some of my girls were heavier due to pregnancy and of style since they range in age from 25-34..Alfred Angelo offers bridal separates, although in limited colors and styles, however it helped to fit all the BM's comfortably. I ordered them from The Wedding Center and you can look at them on the website www.alfredangelo.com. The dresses were also very reasonable. Good luck

Re: BM dresses???
I am doing just that and using Dessy and/or After Six Dresses in matte satin material (there was over 25 dresses they could choose-shopped at RK Bridal). It met my all different size bridesmaids needs. All my dresses are in and they match perfectly in color (they won't guarantee you they will come from the same dye lot if you order different dresses).I have two friends who did the same. One used Watters and Watters and the other used Jessica McClintock.

Re: BM dresses???
This might help you out. Impression Bridals -Interchangeables Collection.I have 8 girls in my BP, all different shapes and sizes. I shopped Dessy, After 6, and thought I was still limited. I ended up being extremely happy with the variety that Impression Bridal has. All my girls will be weraring the same a-line skirt, with a top of their choice, all same material and color.
You can go on their website and order a catalog (i strongly suggest b/c their websited does not showcase their interchangeables)
They have many different skirts w/many different tops, that you can mix & match. An wide array of colors and fabric. (do I sound like a commercial???)
If you don't want to wait for a catalog, I know that The Wedding Center in Commack has quite a bit of their interchangeables. The good thing, is besides the interchangeables, Impression Bridal also has many other 2-peice options and 1-peice dress options.
My girls are extremely happy with this choice.

Re: BM dresses???
It's kind of expensive, but I am using Serafina. They will custom make dresses. you chose the style and then the material, so different dresses can be made from the same material. I am having my bridesmaids wear white tops, so i wanted it to be an exact match to my dress. they have really nice stuff, but they are not the easiest to work with.

Re: BM dresses???
thanks again ladies- i am going to do MORE web surfing on it today. I am having a hard time because most collections seem to have more options in satin and taffeta, etc. But I am going for a softer look (beach wedding, ect) and it seems like they usually only have a few chiffon, silk, etc. dresses. i guess i will have to keep hunting around. That Interchangeables idea sounds great, too- thanks!

Re: BM dresses???
The Impression Bridals have the usual satin, as well as chiffon dresses. . .My girls are wearing the Interchangeables which come in satin and georgette. They are going w/georgette. It's a pretty good grade, and looks and flows like chiffon (if you call them 1-800-BRIDAL-1) they will send you samples of whatever material you want in whatever color. I got mine in a week !!!!!!!
