How far in advance is everyone having their BMs order the dresses? The place I am going to order them is saying a year before, but others are saying thats too early...

I am hoping to order before the end of this month. I think a year a little to advance. I think I alot of bridal shops do this so they can get the sale. THe place I am using said it only takes it on the average about two months.
Since most of the bm dresses are coming from China I would give an extra 2 months because of the upcoming holidays it may delay some orders.

i have to ask my bridal salon... my wedding is in may. i think i am going to have the girls order the dresses the weekend of thanksgiving because i have some OOT BM's that will be in. and my salon gives a discount if my girls order there dresses there.

We ordered 6-7 months before. They take about 3 months to get in (sometimes more depending on the designer) and then you need time for alterations and then any drama associated with alterations.
I think a year is too far just because of the way a woman's body can change (lose or gain), people can get pregnant, and the dress is just sitting in the closet forever.

Everyone kept telling me to go early so I went in August and the dresses are supposed to come in this week and my wedding is in 8 months

I ordered them at David's Bridal it only took 2 weeks(if that) to come in. But I know that DB is different than ordering from a salon. As far as how far in advance... I ordered them about 7 months before the wedding.

my wedding is next dec and my girls wanna already start ordering! lol, the dress is already pikced out. they will prob be completely ordered by last jan-early feb.
