When should my girls get measured and order them? My wedding is September 5th and I have been hearing mixed things. Some tell me they should go this month; others tell me they should wait until May. ...help?
I'm getting married Sept 6. I've been searching for a few months for the right dress and finally found it. I just had the girls go get measured and order the dresses. I did it now because if there is any kind of problem (god forbid) at least there will be time to fix it. I don't see the need to wait, if you're ready start the process. Good luck.
well i say if u found what u want then id get them im not till oct but i found what i wanted so we ordered them and they will be comin in this week so the girls r just putting them away till sept to get altered..they usually take 3-4 months to come in so i just wouldnt go beyond that..hth
I would say about 6 months before the wedding so the dresses have time to come in and get altered... but you should start looking now for a dress you like if you want... its harder to pick out than most people think! It took me forever to decide on a line, let alone a dress
for july the salon said feb, so april?

I am getting married in early August. My friend whose father owns Helens said that I had to order them by mid February. We are going Jan 24.
im getting married in Aug and i think we're going to start looking in Feb. But my girls are wearing simple black tea length dresses so i dont think there will be any alterations
I've heard 6 months and I think that's safe. It took 3 mos for mine to come in but I know the higher end dresses can take longer. Plus, if new styles come out, if you go too early then you miss out on them (which is a problem I'm having). I'd wait until March-April but definitely try to pick out a few options and vetting them with the BMs (if you so choose) before then so all that needs to be done is the measurements and ordering.
Im getting married in July and my girls went and got measued last weekend.
6 months before...Im doing mine next month.
We went to order our dresses in November and they already came in on Christmas eve! I would say order it within 6 months just to be safe but you don't HAVE to order them right now.
Yeah I think I'm going to have them order them either next month or in March. I have a LARGE bridal party; some are in MI.. some are in NY and some are in AZ. By reading your guys' posts I think to be on the safe side they are just going to have to do them much sooner than later lol
I ordered mine on Monday for my August wedding b/c the dress is being discontinued. Most of the BM dress I looked at required 3-4 months to come in and then you need time to have the dresses altered I would order the dresses no later than 6 months before the wedding incase something goes wrong!
