bm dresses

bm dresses

I am having such a hard time finding the right color for my bridesmaids. I originally wanted green and then purple, then some combination of the two. but I have always dreamed of having the girls' dresses match mine and have the colored sash or accent or something...

So, my dress is ivory (no sash), and i would love to have my girls in ivory (that way, maybe it can be a tea length instead of having to be a floor length gown) and some with purple and some with green sashes or accents or whatever?

Honestly, what do you think? I'm not really worried about it taking away from me, i'm still the only bride there that day... but I'm not sure how easy it would be to find ivory bridesmaids dresses....

Would I need a swatch of my dress? it's maggie, how do I get a swatch???

TIA

Why don't you do the reverse? Color dress with ivory sash? If you post something you want it to match I may be able to offer some dress suggestions. I have been over bm dresses myself!!

If you decide to go with ivory, check out belosie 'oyster' color. Not sure if it will be what you are looking for but something worth looking into

i honestly don't love the idea but if you do, then i think you should go for it. a lot of designers have light colored (ivory) dresses so they def exist.

Re: bm dresses

My dress is the maggie Phillipa (pic in album)

But I am having a hard time with finding the right colors... More the green... It's october, so It can't be too springy. I don't like the david's greens... the pistachio is too mint chocolate chip for me and the peridot (which isn't even in every dress) is a little too gray... I wanted something a little more sage than the peridot...

For the purples, I LOVE the impressions aubergine (thanks Roz ) but my sister had us in a very similar color at her wedding (and I keep hearing about it already bc I chose the same color scheme)...

I know that one of the maggie dresses I tried on came with a sash, and honestly, it was just a really wide ribbon. Just a ribbon... not really a SASH, so I figured, if i HAD to, i could do that...

so i'm stuck....

thanks!!!

actually when i went for my dress fitting last week, there were bridesmaids there getting fitted for their dresses in a 'snowball' wedding... all of their dresses were this ivory/white chiffon. it was different!

sorry, i'm not feeling 100% today and i guess it's gotten to me

i thought the original post was asking if you should do ivory BM dresses or not ... then i thought your response was about which color green you should use for the sash ... so now i guess i'm just confused ... i think it's time to call it a day

aww... I'm sorry. My brain is going around and around in circles about this, so it's not you!!!

I WAS asking about ivory or not, and then ELP asked about colors, so I answered her...

Thanks, though.....
