My only concern with my BM dresses is the timing. I didnt want to order them now bc it takes 3 months and then if they get fitted for the dresses it will be soo soon. the guy at the store said he might not be able to order them later on bc the 2010 dresses come out and he migHt not be abe to get these.
Is this truee or is he BSing me ????????

Can't you order them but wait on the fittings? They don't have to get fitted immediately.

Are they being discontinued? I think he's a big filthy liar! There are BM dresses that I'm pretty sure have been around for YEARS. My friend got married back in 07 and her BM dresses are still available!!

Where did you go? Did you try Burton's? They were pretty cheap too, $60 less than anywhere else... I told them I didn't want to order until January and they said that would be fine.
Try calling another place that carries them and see what they tell you about their availability. That way you'll have peace of mind about whether or not they're bring discontinued.

It can not hurt to order! My girls order there dress and they came in 8 weeks early ( which was great) they will not start there fittings in till January but knowing the dress are in was a great relief! SO you can order them just not start the fittings!!

this would be the best thing to do i think.... maybe the guy meant that they may get discontinued in 2010 and connot guarantee that youll be able to still order them? but you could def order and wait on the fittings, they should have no problem doing this.

If you can, I'd buy them now, and when they come in have your girls go pick them up and keep them at their house until it is closer to the wedding. Or you can keep them at your house.
They can prob bring them to a tailor for alterations - it'll be a lot cheaper than getting it done at the bridal place anyway!!

thats the thing im worried about. they have to have the alterations done there, thats the bridal stores policy.
will bridal stores just keep them there for months?

they shouldn't HAVE to get alterations done there, thats ubsurd
i ordered my dresses early, when they came in, we had a choice of either leaving them at the store or taking them. the place does alterations there but its usually cheaper to go elsewhere so we went and picked all of them up.

How can they FORCE you to have alterations done there? 'Hey I'm picking up my dress, I love the way it fits, I'm taking it home now, k thnks bye'
I would make some more phone calls about availability... If it's a couple more dollars somewhere else, it might be worth it if you can modify your ordering time to make yourself more comfortable because they're not forcing you to have the alterations done there

Wow - I've DEF never heard of that policy! I would agree with above, have the girls lie and say that they fit great and take them elsewhere! Or - go to a bridal store with more flexibility.
I was in a wedding over Labor Day, and one of the bmaids didn't have a ton of extra $$ for alterations (they were $90 flat fee) so she tried it on, ****** it in and was like 'it fits!' Then she got it properly fitted at her local tailor/dry cleaner for like $20!!

I think this guys is rushing you. Have tried RK Bridal? They have a no frills program where you just ordr the dresses and get them altered elsewhere.

I know for me all my BM are OOT so we ordered them and then they are being shipped to each of them and they can do the fittings when they want. My MOH is local and they are holding the dress until she needs to start going to fittings.

The bridal store should keep them for you. Any time I've been a BM, the dresses have always come in early and i've never gotten fitted until much closer to the wedding. They've always held them for free.
