BM dresses- when do I start to panic?

BM dresses- when do I start to panic?

Sooo. Most of my girls ordered their dresses from someone pretty reputable on this site. She has been more than slightly flakey. Which is OK with me, as long as it doesn't cause me stress, I don't care.
So, one of them gets a call weeks ago, that her dress is in. But only hers. I was like- 'hmmm, thought they all had to be ordered together?...'
But again, no big deal, I don't care about dye lots.

So, I call just now, asking WHEN WILL the rest of these dresses be in? And all she keeps saying is :They are not in'.
Ummm, ok, so WHEN WILL they be in? And what about Cara's dress? She was called, and told it was in?
No- she doesn't see anything that says Cara's dress was in. OK, no big deal- just a mix up I'm sure.

I ask 'OK, so- when do I start to worry?'
She says- 'You have plenty of time, the girls who are getting married NEXT WEEK should be worried'
?!?!?!?
Umm, so are you saying that my dresses may not be in until the WEEK BEFORE MY WEDDING?!?!?!? No, that will not do.

SO, my question to you is, when should I worry? Like, when can I nag her? I don't like that she can not give me any straight answer re: an ETA.

TIA

I would start worrying when the dresses aren't in one month before the wedding.

Our dresses came in January, but we didn't go for their first fitting until April 1 - one month before.

wow....what a weird response! i would say that you still have some time. check the receipts when the dresses were ordered to see if there is information about it there.

i would say by about mid july or so, if they aren't in, you should start really nagging and remind them that some of the dresses will most likely have to be altered, and you don't wan to wait till the last minute for it.

One month before. I would continue to follow up and ask her for a firm date when you can expect they will be in. Tell her summer is a very busy time so you want to make sure your BMs have ample time for fittings.

Good luck

I'm in a wedding in mid-August and the dresses just came in yesterday. I'd give it a couple more weeks before I started panicking.

Are any of your girls from OOT? If so, then you may have to start hounding the store so that they have time to get the alterations done.

Cool, date twin!
at least You KNOW! It's this whole not knowing a date thats bugging ,me!
Lol, oh my...
It's just that shes real flakey. I dont trust that she even ordered htem, you know? I am sur ethat is not the case, but really-
ie- In February, Cara ordered her dress. Her credit card was charged, etc.
Now, dress lady had a list of all my girls names. After everyone else finally prders, she says- Cara hasn't ordered
She did, lady- 2 months ago, she has a receipt.
THEN, Samantha, the FG is measured, with mommy getting measured same day, and they place their order. For some reason, FG's dress gets charged top her card 3 weeks later than mommys.

I know I am overreacting, it's just so sloppy!!!

I agree 6 weeks to a month before starting bugging....my BM dresses came in three weeks before (and they were ordered 9 months before)---needless to say I was completely freaking out...you have some time still but ugh that's annoying!!!

I can totally understand... I asked each of my girls to check if they were charged as well.. but I have had a good experience with the shop I ordered from....
It does sound like they are a bit disorganized.. and how the heck are they charging these cards on different days, if they were measured and ordered the same day!

I would call back again in the beginning of July...Just in case.

If this is who I think you are talking about, my dresses were ordered through her and just came in on Monday - I know a friend who is getting married July 4th and hers came in the same shipment as mine. She has 2 weeks to get everyone fitted and what not. We both ordered the dresses (same dress) in February. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that everything will be ok with the dresses...I'll be sure to kleep you posted.
