Should I feel obligated to buy my bms each a gift thats tailored to their specific personality? I actually like the idea of buying totes and filling them up with a bunch of useful items everyone could use. I wouldnt question it but my idea caught alot of flak on The Knot. I was told thats a cheap way of gift giving. I honustly would have never thought that.
Now I'm wondering what everyone else is doing. Thanks.

Re: bm gifts
im probably getting them all similar items, but catering them to their likes/needs
i wanted to give them all the same thing, but they all have such different personalities that they wouldnt all enjoy/use things if they were identical

I don't think that's a 'cheap' way of doing it..........Actually that's exactly what I'm doing, and I've spent about $150 on each girl!
I got my girls the following:
Tote bag Makeup brush kit w/ case (BM's only) Lip gloss kit (BM's only) Bath & Body kit (MOH's only) Jewelry pouch Totes Isotoners ballet slippers Double picture frame with a pic of me with each BM on one side and the other side left blank for a wedding pic Swarovski necklaces Swarovski earrings for MOH's and FSIL to match their necklaces Crystal brooch for their dress Lolita wine glasses A pashmina in their favorite color
Oh and they all also have the option to get a free mani/pedi, as my sister (MOH) is a manicurist.

I don't think that looks cheap, and who cares how it 'looks' to other people. you will spend what you plan on spending, and what you are comfortable with!

Re: bm gifts
i don't think it's 'cheap' either.
i didn't get my girls the same exact thing but i get them all something from Coach (a wristlet, a full size bag (moh), and a smaller wristlet) and then i got them all a wallet from Kate Spade (just different colors and styles). I did get them all the same manicure kit from B&BW and 2 of them got a beaded mirror (different colors).
thinking about this now, i might have done it a little different but basically it's all the same. how is it cheap?

Re: bm gifts
I think it'sperfectly fine to give everyone the same gift. In fact, I've never been given anything specific to my tastes when I've been in a wedding. And I would have never expected it. The knot is wrong : )
