I've been lurking for a long time but today I need some help!
I called the Venetian Yacht Club and found out that my banquet manager no longer worked there! No one called to tell me, and had I just walked in with a check or mailed it in i would never had known! There is apparently a new person who took over all his accounts or whatever. Has anyone met Randy? I'm apprehensive because i had all of these conversations with Bill, he signed my contract and now iIm left with someone I've never met. When i called today Giulio was fantastic and said i would LOVE Randy but i'm nervous. What do i do now?

I would ask to set up a meeting with Randy so you could meet him and go over everything that you discussed with your former BM.
ETA: BM leaving halls is fairly common. I know a few girls on the site that this happened to, I would not worry over it.

I think you should schedule a meeting with the new BM and have a conversation with him that way you know for sure good luck

Thats a really good idea. I was angry no one told me and then, yesterday, they told me he was with a client and would call me right back and no one called me. Do you think if i am not satisfied with him i should/could ask for Giulio or Daisy? I hope its not a problem thats the last thing i need! I just hope someone has met him and can say hes great. Did anyone have Bill and meet with Randy?

Hey! I'm getting married at the VYC one week after you! I found out 2 months ago about the whole Bill/Randy switch cause we called to make an appt to drop off another deposit. Randy said he was going through his list of 2009 weddings and calling each person to notify of the change and he didnt get up to the 2010 list yet. We met with Randy and he was decent and professional. He has a lot of previous experience and it seemed like he new what he was talking about. They're making some changes to the hall (paint touch-ups, mirrors, new seat covers, etc...) and he brought us around and showed us everything they're doing. I would suggest calling and making an appt with him!

Thank you so much for telling me that. I went out today and while i was out, Randy called me to let me know he was going to be my BM and he was excited to be joining my team and that he wanted to have us come in and take us around so we could talk about how we were going to use the space etc. He seemed really nice and i'm glad to hear that you liked him too and that they are doing some nice things (and chair changes....that was one of the things on my list). I was nervous but now i feel better. I think i'll call him this week and see when he can meet with me.

This happened to me... don't stress it. Make sure EVERYthing you want is in your contract. I now work with several different BMs at my hall, but all my adds ons, etc. are in my contract so there are no snags.
