I got an email from my friend who said she was a little confused over my wedding. She thought she would be in my bridal party and she isn’t. I NEVER ASKED HER TO BE IN MY PARTY. I know I never asked her because my FH has 2 good friends and one that he wasn’t sure he’d ask to be in the wedding and I already asked my sister and my other friend. I wanted to keep the numbers even. I was planning on asking this friend to maybe play the piano or have another role in my party, just not a BM’s. Now she is very upset and doesn’t want to talk about it. What should I do? She is from OOT. We’ve had an up and down relationship. She said she thought since we talk about the wedding so much she’d be in my party.

Re: BM or Not- Vent/Question/Need Help
It sounds like maybe her feelings were hurt that she wasn't asked. Like you said, maybe she just assumed she would be in the party and when she found out she wasn't, it upset her.
I would talk to her and tell her that you planned for her to have another role that day, such as playing the piano or something special like you mentioned. A good friend would understand, and be honored. If she's still upset or won't talk to you, there's really not too much you can do.
I've said 100 times, along with a lot of other girls on the boards.....you find out who your true friends are when you get married.
Good luck!! Hope it all works out!

Funny that you answered- you have/had the same initals as her- the 'c' was her maiden name.
I guess I knew that- just needed someone else to tell me. Thanks.

I think it depends on how close you guys are. If she's one of your BEST friends, then I can see her expecting it, but not to be mad about not being included. I have a friend who I thought about asking but I already have 7 girls and I don't want any more! I wanted to tell her that I thought of askng her but that I already have so many girls but I thought that was tacky. I think maybe your friend feels like she might not be as important to you as she thought. She might just need some reassurance, and an explanation of why she's not.
