hi girls...so one of my BM's lives in FL. I had her get professionally measured and call in her measurements to my bridal suite so she could order her gown. When her dress comes in....does the bridal suite ship the dress (i know they would charge) or do I ship it myself? Im confused...cause if it gets shiped to her...she would obviously get her alterations done in FL....then she brings her dress up here...and then what?? she would have to get it steamed and pressed?? This just sounds like alot. I feel like I should pay some of these costs...no??

i am an out of town bridesmaid for my best friend. the dress is being shipped to her and then she's shipping it to me. we did that to save on sales tax. then i'm getting it tailored here and then bringing it with me when i fly for her wedding. she's not paying for anything and i wouldn't expect her to.
i'm not paying for any of my out of town BMs (and I have 4 of them!)

I've been bridesmaids in three weddings out of town, and I paid for the shipping in two of them, and alterations for all of them myself.
The one wedding where I didn't pay for the shipping the bride picked up the dress and gave it to me in person.
You shouldn't feel obligated to pay for stuff. I think it's expected.

i have 3 BM's that are outta town, yepp 3!!!! i found a salon for them in the city that they live in to order their dresses. they just went there n ordered em and dont have to worry about shipping back and forth. originally i was gonna have them call in their measurements to the salon up here n the salon was gonna ship it to them to have their alterations done in their hometown.... but if theyre paying for their dresses, they should pay for the shipping and stuff as well.
