BM shoe help!

BM shoe help!

My BM's are divided on shoes with this dress (it'll be in victorian lilac). The wedding is in the end of March and it may be cold, so some want to have a close-toed shoe that would be dyed to match the dress. Others think that would look bad, and would rather have strappy silver sandals, and in that case they'd all be different because some already have them and I would feel bad making them buy new ones. Any thoughts?

I say go for the strappy sandals. Yes, it'll be a bit chilly, but they'll be indoors before they know it!

I'm personally just not a fan of dyed shoes, most especially the horror stories of the dye bleeding b/c of rain or sweat.

My girls will also be wearing lilac dresses and silver strappy shoes. But I can see their concern with the chill in March. I'm just always afraid of the dyed shoes not matching the color of the dress.

I think tea length looks best with strappy sandals. I don't think having their toes out will really make them much colder - they're already wearing strapless gowns!

Also, not a big fan of dyed shoes...

Thanks, I was leaning towards silver so this helps! Think it matters if the silver sandals are all different??

It's a personal preference. I told my girls they can wear whatever they want, as long as the color is gold.

I agree, let them get whatever shoes they want in silver

I'd go for strappy sandals, especially w/ a tea lenght dress.

I agree with everyone else - I'm also doing a lilac/lavender colored dress with silver strappy sandals of their choice!

I wore charcoal colored shoes when I was a BM for my aunt's wedding. We had the same lilac color dresses. It looked very nice together. HTH

Re: BM shoe help!

strappy silver is great, thats what i am buying for my girls as part of their gift. IMPORTANT: for tea length dresses, you might want to have all the girls in the same shoe bc having the same height is important...i know at bridal suite of centereach they will be fitting my tallest girl first so they know what the length from the bottom of the gown to the floor will be. this way, all of the gowns will have the same length from the floor and it won't look 'wavy' in pics. but, i don't know how this works if your girls have drastically diffrents heights, i know my girls are all within an inch of one another. good luck~lacey

My girls got together and voted on dyed shoes or silver strappy sandals, and the sandals won. They are all in different states, so almost guaranteed that they won't match. I don't care as long as they are comfortable.

I told the girls to buy whatever shoe they want, just have the color be silver. Almost all want sandals. Good luck!
