BM spinoff- is anyone corroborating WITH their BP?

There have been a lot of posts on here lately about bridesmaids. I was just wondering what everyone's attitude towards their BP is.

For myself, we are going through the process together- trying to come up with something that works for everyone at the wedding and after. from shoes to dress to jewelry, everyone has a say and input. I know for some girls it's hard, especially if you have large party- mine is fairly small.

I just want them to feel like they are helping me to create something with me, not voiceless soldiers in my wedding army. I think sometimes I get a little carried away with the 'my day, my way' thing, and I am trying not to do that, because I really feel, it's not MY day- it's the day my loved ones made FOR ME.

maybe sappy or even misguided, but what can I do.

My BP is involved to an extent. I chose the color and designer and by the end of the month we are all getting together for dress shopping and each girl is going to pick whatever dress they like by that designer in my color - they are wearing any shoes that they want, but i wanted to get their jewelry as gifts but if they have something they really prefer to wear they can just wear that.

When it comes to the plans only my FSIL has been involved b/c she's the only one interested - my sister/MOH has no interest in planning and doesnt even want to look on the designers website to look at dresses. My sister hasn't even seen the hall yet (we booked it a year ago)

Also, i want the bo-ks to be each girls favorite flower and color of their choice then my bo-k will be a mixed bo-k of all of the flowers!!

I'm all about mixing and matching and letting them choose whatever they want!

I agree totally with what you said Jessica!!

I have 5 BMs, but I only took 2 of them with me for gown shopping. I am trying to avoid the 'my day, my way' thing too - but sometimes it isn't possible. It takes a lot to get all of the girls together -- it hasn't happened for me yet.

When I need their input, I send out an email asking for their opinions....but I mostly rely on my two MOH.
