One of my BMs wants to wear flats...yeah she's tall, but I don't want her in flats. She said if she wears heels she will need to get the dress lengthened.
What do I do?

I say let her wear them. One of my BM's wore flats...don't think it's a big deal. No one will be looking at her shoes.

If you all ordered dresses already without her realizing that it wasn't going to be long enough with heels, I'd say let her wear flats, as long as they are floor length dresses
If it's just cause she doesn't want to be tall, I'd ask her to please wear shoes like the other girls, but I'd ultimately leave it up to her and not be mad if she chose to wear flats.
Is that something you're really gonna notice that day? I can't remember the last time I ooked at wedding photos and even noticed if the BMS we wearing the same shoes or not if they were in gowns...

I have a bridesmaid wearing flats... she is traveling up from VA and is short on cash, with the expense and trouble she's going through to be a part of my wedding the least I could do is encourage one of my best friends to be comfortable...
There's no rule that bridesmaids must wear heels. Many girls don't like to wear heels, whether it's bc they're self-conscious that they're gonna be tall, or they can't walk in them, or have a bad back/knees... it's not important what shoes they're wearing if it's a floor length dress.

i think you should let her, i know i wouldnt want to be forced to wear heels if i was in a wedding. I'm 5'9'' without heels, and wearing them just makes me feel awkard and uncomfortable.

One of mine wore a very small kitten heel. She's 5'7' and would've had to order extra length if she went higher. Besides, I didn't want her to wear too high of a heel anyway since she already towers over me

I think you should just let her wear flats nobody will notice. Depending on the designer adding extra length can range from $25-$75 in my experience.

I wanted to be comfortable last wedding I was in so I wore flats- I dont think it mattered I still ended taking even those off. My girls are picking their own and most likely it will be flats-even though for pics heels might look nicer

Are your dresses long or short? If they're long let her do it, no one will see them... If they are short see if she'll wear heels for pics and then put on flats for the reception....

This is exactly what my girls are doing and i ordered them ballet slippers to change into!

i dont see a problem in her wearing flats as long as its a long dress. if they are short and you are gunna see them then no. my girls are wearing long dresses and i told them to get whatever they are comfy in. my one BM said she wanted to wear flats, i said sure whatever, her sister (MOH) said no shes wearing heals!!!

It is a long dress.
I am not totally against the flats idea, I think a kitten heel would be nicer, but I'm certainly not gonna not let her wear flats if thats what she wants. As long as they look nice, thats all I care about.
I was suprised because she had never mentioned it till the other day.
