BMs and GMs walking in....

BMs and GMs walking in....

OK so I thought at all weddings, the GM's are already up by the alter with the groom and the bridesmaids walk in by themselves. But someone just told me the last 3 weddings the went to, only the Best Man and Groom were up there and the others walked in with the BM's. Who's doing which way?

(the last wedding I went to, I was the flowergirl, so thats why I dont know much about protocol)

I think it depends on the type of ceremony you're having, some religions do things differently. I had a civil ceremony outside and I had the GM escort each BM down the aisle.

Usually for a Catholic wedding the girls walk down by themselves.

You do what YOU WANT!

I wanted each of my girls to walk down the aisle by themselves and then be escorted up the aisle at the end of the wedding by their GM. It worked out really nicely.

it also depends on the bridal party.

i had un-even numbers.

i had:
a gm escort my mom
a gm escort dh's sister
a gm escort dh's other sister to light the memorial candle.

i then had all the women bm, moh, jr bm walk alone

then the rb, then fg

I'm planning on having the groom and best man up front and having the ladies escorted by the GMs. One benefit to this is no one has to feel like they're in the center of attention completely.

I am getting married at our RH, so religion wont be an issue. And I have the same amount of guys and girls....so I guess it really is just up to me. I dont know if I really have a preference.

It depends, at my wedding everyone walked down the aisle, including DH.

DH walked with his parents, then the best man, then the BM and GM, then the MOH, RB,FG, and then me and my parents.
You can do whatever you want.

I didn't think it had anything to do with it being a Catholic wedding, but most of the ones I've been to did have the girls walk down alone... maybe all of them, come to think of it.

The most common I've seen is that he groom and best man are at the altar.

The groomsmen walk down the aisle together, 2x2. The bridesmaides then walk down by themselves. Going back up the aisle, the groomsmen escort the BMs.

But you can do it however you want!

I had the best man with the groom. Bridesmaids came down a flight of stairs alone, groomsmen were waiting at the bottom, then they walked the aisle together. MOH did the entire processional alone.

I'm having my girls walk in by themselves. Plus, since my parents are divorced, my dad is remarried and will be walking me down the aisle, I need my brother and FH to walk my mom and step mom down the aisle. I couldn't imagine having my brother run back and forth for our mom and then a BM (my sister-in-law). My sister in law had GMs and BMs walk together. However, her brother was a GM and had to walk their mom first. He had to run up and down the stairs to walk her and then me. Craziness!!

You can do what ever you want!!! I had the GM escort the BMs down the aisle. The BM waited at the altar with DH

The Best man was already up front. My DH walked in with his parents and then all the other BM and GM walked in in pairs.

Im doing it the old-fashioned way that the men wait for their partners and walk with them after church is over ...

You can do it either way.....usuall the BM stand with the groom and the bms walk in with one of the GMs except the MOH she walks in alone

I have seen it where the GMs stand with the Groom and the girls walk in along....we will prolly be doing it this way since we have uneven parties
