BM's dresses not ready for 9/23! UPDATE

My cousin is getting married on Sunday, and I was just told that none of the girls have their dresses yet!

The dresses came in July, they all went for their 1st fitting & then were told August/Sept for 2nd fitting. They have been calling the bridal salon & have been getting the run around since August! None of the girls had their 2nd fittings & they all were told they had to pay for their dresses/alterations in advance!

What do you think we should do??

wear them (if they can?) or cancel the order, DEMAND full refund and have the girls all pick out dresses in the same color?! i love the different style in the same color look!

it could work out really well HTH best of luck

They would totally do that if there were time, but seeing the wedding is in 4 days, I think their hands are tied...

I told my cousin to have them all go p/u the dresses as is and see if they can find a seamstress to accomadate them in this short time frame! I am so nervouse for them, and the kicker is that the bride doesn't even know yet, they haven't told her yet!

omg - it will come together! even if they need to take the dresses home and take them to individual seatstress' i bet they can get it done in 4 days! At least they have had 1 fitting

Oh wow!
Definately, go get them 'as is' no matter what and noway should they be held hostage!
As a second alteration they should be a least a little less complex. I am so sorry for them!

If these suggestions don't work, call fox 5 and get them on help me howard! that is disgusting and that bridal salon should be ashamed of their horrible service!

I would have the girls physically go to the salon and get their dresses. Have them each go to a different seamstress if any alterations still need to be done. But I would still report this so called to sop to us and the BBB.

OMG that is insane! Is it a LI place? Can they grab the dresses and take them to local seamstresses. I'm sure you can find someone who can do it asap.

as long as the dress isnt too crazy (like tons of beaded and pleats all over the place) any regular strip-mall seamstress should be able to bust out the alterations in a day or two. Call the individual seamstresses and let them know the sitch.... most ladies, married or not, will be verrry sympathetic.

I would pick my dress up and if it does not fit bring it to a seamstress I would not leave the dress in their possession any longer!

We are so sorry to hear about this. Get the dresses and find a seamstress. Also file a report with BBB. That is so not right.

This is a highy reputable bridal salon in Westchester.....so no fear LI ladies!! LOL

Good news is my Step-Mom was there with my Grandma getting her fitting & the owner came up to her & apologized for what happened and said the dresses were being worked on as they spoke & they would be ready by Friday!!

I would go get the dresses and if they need any other alterations they can take them to their own seamstress

Try going to a local dry cleaner, they are more likely to alter them quickly with out ripping you off. If anyone else hears that you need it in a day they will probably charge tripple.

I got my dress at the same reputable place in scarsdale that starts with an F too. For some reason I think it might be the same place.
