bo-k toss and garter toss

I wanted to do these b/c I think they are fun and most of fh and my friends are single. but the last couple of weddings I have been to didn't do it. Is it cheesy to do them now?

We arent doing either- FH will be taking my Garter off but thats it- we will have all the couples stand at their tables then narrow it down by how long they have been married... my dj is going to make it fun. then whoever is married longest with get a replica of my bo-k. we figured it out as my grandparents are married longest so its a nice thing for my g-ma to keep- im the 1st g-daughter to get married on my dads side- Afterwards im going to have it preserved for her- I know she will love it!

I honestly have not seen either done in so long. I don't think it's cheesy to do it. It's just a personal preference. If you like it - go for it. I'm not doing it b/c I feel like it takes time away from the dancing! And b/c all our friends are married - there'd be like 2 girls out there to catch the bo-k. It would be funny though.

I'm going to surprise my FH with a Yankee garter... but we're not going to toss it. I DO want to toss my bo-k (I've caught enough in my life, darn it... it's MY turn to toss!). But I also want to present a duplicate bo-k to my mother as a thank you and congratulations on my parents' 40th Wedding Anniversary.

We tossed the bouquet, left the garter on my leg.

Neither are out of fashion, I was simply uncomfortable with the raunchiness that sometimes comes with the garter toss.

Not doing either - i dont think its cheesy - I just prefer not to do it ... im prob gonna make married couples dance - and the longest married gets a bo-k - my brother did that for his wedding - if i could think of something else different - it would be nice too ..

I didn't do either one. It's personal preference. I didn't want to waste any time during the party. We just wanted to dance all night. I had no interest and neither did DH

yeah I want to keep my bo-k also that why Im having a bo-k just to toss. the garter thing I think is hilarious I don't find it raunchy. its funny

Most florists give a throw away bouquet. We have kind of made it a tradition among my friends to throw the bouquet purposely to the next girl who is due to get married. it is silly, but it is cute.

I already know who i'm going to aim for to catch my bouquet.. She is afterall getting married 2 months after me!!!!!!!!!

I think it is a lot of fun and gets a lot of laughs during the wedding. it is also a great photo op!!!!

i'm not doing either one. i don't want to take away from dancing time! but i think it's a personal preference and you should do whatever makes you happy!

I am only going to do the bo-k toss. I don't really like the garter toss, for me it's a bit too raunchy for a wedding. But with that being said, it's your wedding and I always laugh when people do it at their wedding, I think alot of people like it too.

i was all about the bo-k toss...have been since i was knee high to a grasshopper. (sorry, i was just talking about my dad and he says stuff like that)....the garter i was against...but FH actually wants to do it! i was shocked cause as modest as i am, he is and then some....so i got him a cute wake forest university (he went to law school there...it's in NC). he doesn't know it yet. it will be a surprise...and he better appreciate it because i had to search for a long time to find it!

We're doing it b/c everyone in the wedding party is single (except my Matron) and many of our friends will be there. I've been to a few weddings where it didn't happen, but my family loves it!!!

1. most of our friends are already married anyway
2. we did not want to take time away from the dancing

Just our personal preferences.
