Boarding a bird

Does anyone know where I can board a parakeet? Back home pet stores did it, but I have no idea around here. TIA!!!

If you're in Suffolk, call the SPCA; they should be able to tell you. They help us find places for our clients birds but it's a different situation however they should know where you can go.

A family member won't take it? I would hate to see the little guy go to a boarding place.

OMG, how dumb am I? When I saw your post, I thought you meant 'riding' a bird! I was so intrigued that I clicked to see exactly how one would ride a bird, especially a parakeet!!!

I'm such a dumba$$

Why do you need to board your bird? I have finches and have driven with them from MD to NY and they are fine. So if I'm going away for an extended period of time to my FILs, I take them. Although parakeets are more delicate. How far are you going?

I've been off the boards for a little while. The reason I need him to be boarded is that we have no family on Long Island and he's not coming on our honeymoon.

No, we don't want to 'ride' him.

Thank you for that number. We are actually flying out of JFK, so we'll be traveling through Nassau.
