4th trial and no hope left for me... I'm done wasting money on bobby pins
Please help, anyone used a capable hair/makeup person that is not just going to cram a headful of bobby pins?

edit: my hair has bobby pins too. i think any hairstyle that is not all down will use them...

Practically all hair styles will have bobby pins, is it that you arent happy with the styles they are doing for you? If that is the case stop doing trials until you KNOW what you want, I must have had 100 pins in my hair and it was only half up...cant change that unless you wear it all down

Well I didn't want to pay for the ugly hair so I guess I ended up paying for the bobby pins...

Lmoa, I don't think the sarcasm traslated well via chat... i get what you're saying.
I posted some pics of my trial from yesterday, she used an INSANE amount of bobby pins, but she did exactly what I wanted and I loved it! So if the problem you're having is (maybe?) that the girls you're going to aren't following exactly what you're saying when you tell them what you want... she might be the one to actually charge you for a hair trial instead of the take-home bobby-pin goodies

I'm pretty good w/ hair and styling and there are ways to use less bobby pins. I'm not sure if they're using the closed or open pins but that's definitely a factor. My assumption is that they use tons because it's expected that you'll be dancing and pretty active all night and if you have thick hair it will way down and eventually fall apart.

Exactly... I'm not sure. I'm just confused and cranky.
I have some pics in my album. One of the trials started great, we even chatted and became bff in no time... and then she started to pin these curls EVERWHERE! OMG why? I just wanted simple half updo shape. I made her take it down and start over... she did... she tried to match one of the pics exactly, without the crazy pinned curls ... and then said
'I can't do that with your hair, its not possible' ... heh?
I decided, she can't do hair without pinning dumb curls all over my head. Can anyone do it?
And does anyone in long island know how to use a blow dryer? seriously?
My sister is a hairdresser, and she's killing me because she said she doesn't want to do my hair because she wants to relax on my wedding day. Good for her, heh? She's the only one that gets it, she told me to bring her with me on next trial.
What do you guys think? Will it make the hair people uncomforatble to bring another hairdresser to 'supervise'?
