Booked Church before Reception Hall? or Reception Hall before ..........

Hey Ladies,

Do you book Church before Reception Hall? or Reception Hall before ..........

i know many church prefer you do church before reception hall..
well do they prefer? or it is required?? hmmm

This is what I did..

I called the RH and asked them to hold my date for me for 24 hours. This was on a Thursday so I told them I would come in on Friday (the next day) to bring the deposit and sign the contract.

Right after I called the RH, I called the Church and made sure the date was free. I went to the Church that night and met with the Priest to secure the date.

So technically I booked the Church first but I made sure my RH was holding the date for me.

I second that! They kind of go hand in hand and both need to be booked simultaneously....

It kinda depends which one is more important....you could book an RH and then the church might not be available on that date.

I'd make sure both venues were available on the date you wanted before you book anything.

We booked our RH first, then went to our church and they did have our date available

I booked my RH first but didn't tell my church that i had already booked a RH. Since i booked wayyyy in advance the church i booked had my date available so i had no problems.

my church told me not to book the rh before i booked with them. with that being said, i had my rh hold the date for me and i booked with them within 24 hrs of booking my church.

I booked the RH first because we knew we would not have any issues with FH's church. They don't have a lot of rules so it was no problem for us to book the church. We got our date and the pastor told us we can have the ceremony at any time. So it all worked out perfectly.

I checked out RH first then picked a date and then called and made app with my chruch! I would def book the chruch first

we went RH hunting and when we found the one they gave us the only dates left in our season, which they put the date we prefered hold for us. i called the church and set up an appointment and asked for the date i prefered, which they had open.

but my priest did look a little pissed that we went to RH's first. he THOUGHT we booked it and gave a little attitude, meanwhile the date was ON HOLD. He asked me twice if i booked the RH, even though i told him on the phone that we preferred that date.

what is the deal? RH fill up quick.. i guess church first ... im looking at Chateau La Mer so on a hunt I go...

We asked for availability for the RHs from May-July. Mid-search we went to meet with the priest & penciled in a date. They had pretty much every weekend open for May-July 2011. When we made our final decision to book the RH, I called the RH to ask to hold the date & that we were ready to sign, then I called the church & asked them to move it.
If your looking at 2011 I don't think you will have a problem with availability at the church.
