OK girls I need help.....I booked my DJ Alternative Sounds. I have used this DJ for many years for Fire Department parties. I really like them and have full confidence in them. But I feel I am getting ripped off. He told me it will be $1,495.00 for 5 hours 1-DJ, 1-MC and lights. For $300 more he will give me a keyboardest that plays cocktail hour/dinner and sings live with some songs ($1,895.00). I only pay him $600 for the Fire Department parties that are also 5 hours for all the same things. They only difference is its a wedding not a Fire department party. Please give me all your wonderful advice..... Thanks Girls!!

I'm sorry but WHAT A RIP!!!! You would think that since you gave them so much business for FD parties they would work something out for you!! If you want to stay with them then have a SERIOUS talk with them about their prices because that's rediculous!

Yes it sounds too high, but there is more maintenance with a wedding than a FD party. There's much more detail in it.
Having said that, I still think it's high.

It sounds alittle high to me I got quotes for 1man and 2 man for less then 1100
It sounds high, maybe ask them why the price is different

It does sound a little high. I would talk him down...especially with all the business you give him for the FD dinners...he should be able to work with you. It definitely won't be near the price you get for the FD dinners, but it shouldn't be 3x the amt. Good luck.
