Booked Giorgios.. Reviews on some other places
My name is Kamila and My FH is Mike. We just booked at Giorgio''s not long ago. Let me just say that from the second I walked in to Giorgio''s I fell in love with the place. This was also on a very very rainy day! i never thought that I would walk into a place and have chills going down my spine and my heart race. I love the details of the place. First, when you walk in its so cozy with the fireplace and staircase. Then the, the bride and groom''s suites. Yes, there are two and specious! Then the cocktail and reception rooms, and the outside. If you never have checked out that view then its a must see, its just amazing. It has a beautiful garden, a golf course, and vineyards. Therefore, this gives us great variety for pictures all at one place. Another thing that my FH and I loved is that we can have ocean pictures (which the golf cart limo will take us down there) my FH loves golf so this was a huge seller for us. Second, I just have to say that the staff at Giorgio''s are so warm, friendly and helpful. Robert was very helpful and patient with us during the whole process. We first came to Giorgio''s in April, which was the 2nd place we looked at after we went to Bellport country club. After the visit, i received a thank you card, and follow up email after a couple weeks went by. This was very unique as no other place did this. We loved Giorgio''s but my father had some reservations about the distance (an hour away from my home).In order to make the family happy, we continued to look at many.. many ... many other places. Here are the other places that we went to, or just drove by because we didnt even bother going in. 1. Crest Hollow Country Club: we liked the place alot, we loved the pool and the beach scene. The price was even good, but it was a 3 wedding at a time place. The only thing we didnt see were the rooms bc there was a party going on during the time. Although, the man helping us out was giving all his attention to my FH and I was completely ignored we still thought, well this is closer and cheaper. I called the next day to make an apointment and place the deposit. They said they would call me back. Two weeks later i get a voicemail from the man helping us out, that he was just notified i would be coming in and if i can come in 30 min early. Let me just say he was calling me his bf and said my name completly wrong. What a bullshitter. That just turned me off. If they cant get their stuff in order now, i can just imagine what would happen on my wedding day, when they have two others going on. I''m very thankful that didnt work out. 2. Then we went to Sands at Lido Beach.. great price, and great guy that helped us out. The only thing is that they didnt have much else to offer. They are on the beach, so you would think they would use it to their benefit, but nope, they didnt. 3. Next, was Westbury Manor. The place is really beautiful, and the outside is amazing. The gardens are beautiful, and plenty of space outside. The only thing is that on the inside it felt a little cramped. My family has many tall people and the height of the ceilings feels low. The people and price was fair too but it just didnt give us that same feeling. 4. Following was the Sands Castle. The place is also very beautiful. They have alot to offer, bridal suites, cocktail room, reception room. All very beautiful. Although ultimately we didnt like it how it was in the middle of the street, the parking garage was under the balcony. Plus the price we were getting at Giorgio''s was much better than that of Sands. Plus the date we wanted was available. 5. Next was Timber Point.. beautiful outside area, but small bridal suite and smelled a little funky inside. 6. Then Majestic Gardens, the lady was very nice, the area was really nice but all in all, it just didnt compare to Giorgios. 7. The Riviera.. I have to say that this place is really nice, and very nice woman working there. Although, for our guest list it was just too small. 8. Leornards La doce vita. The people are very nice that work there, but it was a little too gaudy for my taste. It was too much 80''s and didnt offer too much of an outside area. Last, there were some places my FH and I went to weddings, so we automatically crossed it off the list but here are my two cents about them. 1. Flowerfields: beautifull inside and outside, cocktail room is amazing. The food was amazing! 2. Carlyle on the green: great golfcourse, great food. 3. Lands End. I like how its on the beach. 4. Catrun: felt very small 5. Chateau La mer: Great food, have all my family parties there! 6. Jericho Terrace: The inside of the place is amazing, which is great for colder weather if you''re not looking for an outside cocktail hour. 7. The Venetian: Great water view great food. 8. The Watermill: Great cocktail hour outside, nice inside. 9. Garden City Hotel: great name, but for cocktail hour, we had no seating at all. We ended up sitting on the floor in the hallway. I would expect alot more for the price. 10. North Ritz.: also great food.. great ice sculptrures.. had ice luges. Very nice.. 11. Swan Club.. Beautifull outside.. great inside as well. Last here are some places we only drove by and drove away because we didnt like the surroundings: Beach House in Lake Ronkonkama Larkfield Manor Woodlands (Looked Old) GlenCove Mansion Mansion at Mutton Town Harbor Club: Small outside, and overlook the parkinglot Finally.. There were just places that were out, because they are clubs and I partied there. So that ruled out.. woodbury country club... chateau briand.. bridgeview and Yacht club. Sorry but I dont want to have my wedding where my friends and I clubbed. In the end... I took my father on a trip to Giorgio''s (and can I say he is very stubborn) and he liked the place although he didnt say a word. He was even EXTREMLY stubborn about having it on a Sat, rather than a Friday (which we wanted bc of the $$). I though I would never be able to convince him. But then we all went to the showcase.. and thats when I decided thats it.. This is it! I still dont know what conviced him, maybe it was the fact that we sam other places, or that he just had to see why we love it for himself. Either way in the end i had his approval and blessing. The following week, we drove out there again and we placed the deposit! I cant say enough how happy I am. When I thought about having my wedding somewhere else, I lost all passion for planning. With Giorgios I cant stop raving and talking about it. EVERY SINGLE TIME I GO IN THERE, I FIND NEW THINGS I LOVE ABOUT IT!!! I am a very happy bride!!!!! Hope my one HUGE post helped out those who are looking around. As I have read some before, even the long ones like this, and it has helped me as well.
