booked our Aruba honeymoon!

I am very psyched and just wanted to share. After completely changing our tenative plans for our honeymoon destination, we finally chose Aruba (we're going in August). We booked the Hyatt Regency and after speaking to a few libery travel agents, I ended up getting a slightly cheaper price online through american airline vacations plus I get extra frequent flyer miles. I can't wait to go!

Please le me know all about it. We are thinking of going there for our honeymoon in February. Is the Hyatt all inclusive? We are still undecided if we want all inclusive or not. Elisa

Have fun! Aruba is beautiful. Definitely go snorkeling or scuba diving. The marine life there is so plentiful and exotic. I`ve snorkeled all over the carribean and even Hawaii and have never seen anything like the reefs near the Dutch Antilles' Islands (Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire). I hope you like Amstel Beer because it is the only domestic beer and is the cheapest because it`s made there. Note to Elise - Definitely do the all inclusive if you and your FI like to drink, the food isn`t as good but you will save in the long run with the drinks and tips!

booked our Aruba honeymoon!

Congratulations on booking your honeymoon. My fi and I just booked our Aruba honeymoon a week ago ourselves and I too cannot wait. We are getting married in October. We are staying at La Cabana. We are staying 6 nights of which for first 3 will be all inclusive and the last 3 will not be all inclusive. We did it that way because we wanted to relax a few days at the hotel and the other 3 we just wanted to go around and investigate Aruba. Have fun.

You are going to have an amazing time!!! My parents just got back from their 30th Anniversary trip in Aruba and they stayed ay the Hyatt Regency and I have never heard them talk about a vacation like this before. They were like two excited kids and they could not praise the Hyatt more!! They said it was incredible - the service, the facility, the food, the weather, etc. They have been all over the world and they said they would go back there every year! They said there are tons of honeymooners there so, don`t think its for old folks like my parents. You made a fabulous decision! I hope to go there sometime soon. Have FUN!!

Aruba is awesome

To all you ladies who are going to Aruba--you are going to have such a spectacular time. The weather is always perfect and the people are really nice. I go every December, and we are always so upset when we have to leave! The Hyatt is great (it also has a great casino)--but wake up early to get chairs on the beach. For those of you who aren't doing all inclusive these restaurants are a must!! Chalet Suisse, The Lighthouse. There are some others that I don't remember of the names of now, but I will find out. Good Luck

Aruba is awesome

Thank you so much for all this positive feedback about Aruba! My FI and I decided on the Hyatt and although we were slightly concerned that the beach would be very crowded with families, we figure we can easily go to other beaches in Aruba, right? We're staying for 7 days and we decided against an all-inclusive. We did that last year in Jamaica and it really wasn't worth it for us b/c we both don't drink very much. I'm very excited about the Hyatt but we also had been considering the Bucuti Beach resort. I can't wait!

Aruba Restaurants

Here are some good restaurants in Aruba: Chalet Suisse, The Lighthouse, Flying Fish Bone (very romantic, ask for a table on the beach, you will literally be on the sand about 15 feet away from the ocean-it is about 25 minutes from the main strip). El Gaucho--great if you love steak( it is in town). There are also good restaurants in the Marriott and the Hyatt. There is also a Benihana Steakhouse and Outback Steakhouse. I will keep thinking....

Frequenter of Aruba......

I have been to Aruba several times. When we first went we decided not to do to all inclusive because you are then restricted to eat only there. Aruba has a lot to offer in terms of restaraunts like Il Goucho Steak house, Il Petite Cafe in the Americana hotel plus in town there are restaraunts. In addition other resorts have entertainment that have dinner and show. Also while there the Hyatt which is breathtaking has a restaraunt which the name escapes me but it is Italian and the food melts in your mouth. Do go on the Jeep tour where you drive a jeep around the whole Island, stop for snorkeling in beautiful reefs (get an underwater camera - TRUST ME) then onto a barbeque on a private island off of Aruba. Also go on the Divi Divi, a booze cruise where beers are or were a buck. The dance floor is like Saturday night Fever then about and hour or so into it, you can swing into the water by a rope. What a RUSH!!!!!! The beaches were never all that crowded so don't let that bother you just enjoy, bring sun screen and the higher the better (you WILL burn) and the drink at the Hyatt that you MUST have is an Aruba Ariba. Enjoy.
