Re: Booked Westbury Manor...

Thanks. I just called the church rectory. The priest should be calling me back soon. I hope it works out. What does everyone think of Father's Day? A nice way to take dad or husband out to dinner and celebrate. I was thinking of having a father/daughter dance after the father/bride dance and all the dads can dance with their daughters and if they have more than one daughter, and some other dad only has sons, they can share

Re: Booked Westbury Manor...

Booked my church last night and was thrilled that it was available the same day as my reception hall. Most halls will change the day around for you (pending availability) if your church date is not available. Good luck. Congratulations to you - Wesbury Manor is just beautiful.

So much old world charm. When we walked out onto the balcony, we were greated by a peacock with a georgeous LONG tail I love it.

Itsbouttime: I will be sure to check with you after your event, though I doubt either of us will be disappointed there

Re: Booked Westbury Manor...

We just put $500 down and we have to secure everything with the church and then give them the green light. We have a receipt with all that we are getting and we had to sign. Is this a contract? I have never done this before.

Congratulations! I'm a WM bride too - 6/19/04 - the day before you! I love those peacocks!! And yes, that receipt is your contract, read it carefully!

Re: Booked Westbury Manor...

we also got receipt when we paid the deposit but they also wrote up the finalized contract. Do either of you know what their deal w/ vendor meals is? it wasn't on my contract and i havn't called them back to find out how much they charge???

Re: Booked Westbury Manor...

Susan told us that vendors are 1/2 price (but they get the same food). I think the same goes for kids under ten. She also said there is a chicken fingers and fries meal for kids who might be picky. Nice idea

Re: Booked Westbury Manor...

1/2 off isn't too bad. i'll have to get around to getting that on my contact one of these days!!!

Re: Booked Westbury Manor...

Congrats! I am also the day well actually night before you - 6/19/04!!! I love it there too!! I had a similar situation and had them write up the contract subject to the availability of the church. The called then back a few days later. I had them write everything on the contract for me. Including how much vendors eat for but I can't remember that right now. I can check if I ever leave work!!!

Congrats again!!

Re: Booked Westbury Manor...

Ugh! Has anybody heard of a church not even booking you unless they have both the bride and groom's baptismal certificates handy? I am getting a runaround and I need to let Westbury know by Friday. I know they will need the certificate a month before the wedding, but not a year and a month.

My mom is going to call tomorrow and give them a piece of her mind. We have been members of the parish for 33 years and I have been a member since I was born (27 years ago) and I hope they will give me the date on the basis that I provide the documents within a set time.

Any experiences with this? Any advice? Wish me luck!

Re: Booked Westbury Manor...

Wow!!! I haven't heard of any Church requiring that now to reserve the date. I just saw your other question on vendor meals. I'll check when I get home to make sure I give you the right info that I have.
