How long did it take for your priest/deacon/whoever to call you back about booking your wedding at a church? I called and spoke with the secretary on tuesday and she said I'd get a call by wendsday and I havent yet should I be worried and look at another church (I only called the church I grew up in, St. Rose of Lima in Massapequa) and try to talk to them? Thanks in advance girls!!

Re: booking a church question
I would call the church back - he might have been busy and forgot to give you a call.

Re: booking a church question
I would give them a call back. Of all my 'vendors' I think getting in touch and communicating with the church was the most difficult!

Call them back--they often get bogged down with stuff and phone calls.

Re: booking a church question
We did our church very quickly. I went in with no appointment and talked to the Monsignor. I told him the date we wanted and he wrote us in the book. Then he told me what paperwork I needed and to bring it back. FH and I went back about a week later and he did our interview. Now we just have to do Pre-cana.

I would call again too. I called one day and the priest wasn't in so I said I'd call back. The next day I called again and he still wasn't available. The secretary asked if I wanted to leave a message and have him call me back but I thought that would be strange... why should he call me back? I wound up just calling back the next day and eventually getting him.

Re: booking a church question
Ours called us back within a day but definately call them back.
Don't call today or tomorrow wait until Monday. The closer you get to the weekend the more likely they are to forget to call you back since they are preparing for mass -- at least that is what my church told me.

Re: booking a church question
if you do want to call another church or your date is booked and want to because of that, try Maria Regina in Seaford on Jerusalem Ave. We got married there and it was very easy working with the pastor Fr. Peter and the secretary Carol is realy very sweet too.
