My wedding is almost a year away I still haven't quite decided what colors I want to defiantly use but when should I book a florist? And can I book one if I'm not 100% sure about my exact colors?

Re: Booking Florist
Your florist can make suggestions and show you samples to help you out. I recommend checking out Bella Flowers in Huntington....she isn't my florist, but she was sooooo helpful when issues came up with my florist!!

Book it as soon as you can, and they can give you ideas during your meeting.
I highly recommend Hidden Essence! She works from home which keeps the cost down, but does amazing work!

Flowers by Brian doesn't require any info up front, just how many of everything...you pick colors, flowers and everything like a month before the wedding. He uses a swatch of the BM dresses to make sure the flowers look good against it.

Re: Booking Florist
Personally, I didn't feel the need to book my vendors way in advance. I booked my florist in January for my May wedding and it was just fine. Seeing a sample from each florist of what I wanted done BEFORE I signed was important to me. For that reason, I'd wait.

Re: Booking Florist
I'm planning on sending in my contract for my florist tomorrow! My wedding is still 14 months away. I had them write in the contract that I'll be able to change flowers/colors later on if I choose to, but I was only 90% sure of the colors I wanted. So I think it's okay to go ahead and check florists out before you're 100% sure.

Re: Booking Florist
I think the standard timeline for booking a florist, from the magazines I've read is about 6 months out. If you're not sure what you want then I say wait a little while, you have some time.

I'm using Michelle too! I had no idea about flowers when I went to her .. she gave me lots of great advice and I loved her creative ideas!
I didn't think I cared about flowers at all .. but I was actually excited about them after meeting with her!
