My FH and I are looking to get married in the Fall of 2012...preferably late October/early November. Unfortunartely, I have Thanksgiving working against us (we both really don't want to miss the holiday at home) especially in terms of our honeymoon. But my FH thinks I am getting ahead of myself with looking at RH's. What do you guys think? Is it too early to start looking within the next month or so, even if it is for late 2012??

Booking early will give you more options for dates and it will give you more time to pay it off. How long are you planning you honeymoon for? If you get married the end of October you will have plenty of time for a honeymoon.

It is not too early. I m getting married in april of 2012 qnd already have the venue and photographer set. Will probably save you some money because you will lock in 2010 prices. And the prices will just go up

That's what I thought...especially with all the research I have been doing and all the forums I have been reading!
And as for the honeymoon, late October would be prefect...it's just whether or not the price will be right!

Its definately not too early! doing it early will give you more options as far as dates this way you dont end up running into Turkey Day

We are getting married December 17, 2011 and we arent going on our honeymoon until like the 2nd week in January 2012.... I dont wanna miss XMAS, and I dont wanna travel during the holidays because its way too $$$$

My wedding date was originally November 11th, 2012, before i moved it to 2011... We had almost everything booked and we got 2010 prices which really helped us!
It's never too early to start booking anything! JMO

I don't think its too early..yoiu should get a grasp of what you like but keep in mind your mind will chane at least a dozen times by the 1st year. good luck

Definitely start looking now. My FH and I just switched our RH and trying to find an open date in September 2011 was rough. Booking early allows you to really lock in a date you and your FH are both happy with. BUT i have def noticed that with re-booking, RH were much more flex with pricing because now people are booking 2012. So I would say look, but be cautious and make sure to neg with the RH.

it's def not too early, venues (specially the nice ones) can get booked pretty easily, plus u wanna make sure u see several before booking. Make it like a weekend thing, maybe 2 venues every Sunday, compare, compare, compare prices and also try to have to 2 possible dates that u'll like to get married because that can make a difference in prices too, oh don't be scared to ask for a reduction in prices, beleive me, venues can def bring down the price, hope this helps

Its def not to early to book-especially RH! The nice ones go fast and it wouldnt hurt to atleast look around. The holiday brides are coming (x-mas, new years and v-day proposals) so you dont want to get your date taken

ITA. I started looking in December 2009 for November 2011. We booked in January 2010 and got 2010 prices for November 2011 so it definitely worked to our advantage.
Just so you know, when I booked in January 2010, November 11, 2011 was already booked at EVERY hall I visited (Crest Hollow, North Ritz Club, Jericho Terrace, and many more).

We started looking for RH's 2 years out and signed after a couple of months of looking. Not too early IMO.

i don't think its too early to start looking because you will get 2010/2011 prices and just a thought, the week of thanksgiving, is much cheaper because of the holiday
