Booking hall tonight...any tips/advice?

Hi ladies,
So today is FH's birthday. We are going to dinner tonight at he reception hall and we are planning on signing the contract tonight. Do you ladies have any tips or advice for me? Is there anything you would have done differently? Any questions you wished you asked? I tried doing a search but to no avail. Thanks a bunch ladies!

I haven't booked yet, but I plan to ask for one final 'is that your best offer' before signing -- just to make sure I'm getting the best deal and all the extras that are possible. :) Good luck and congrats!!!

ok may be the lawyer in me but read contract very carefully and even if it seems tricial ask questions about it or anythign you are not sure of.

ask about outisde food if you plan on it for example- sometimes a 'no' in small print

Read through the contract and make sure that you understand fully what is/isn't included and what you're repsonsible for doing.

Also the 'is that your best offer' is a good thing too- can save you last minute $$.

Congrats in advance!

if they say it is best offer, you might want to see if they will throw in other things . . we got pastry trays, ice sculpture. and they often said anything else we wanted, just ask. we did - - for baby lamb chops when we did final menu - - and they gave them to us.

give them a smaller guarantee of people than you originally planned on if possible w/o the price going up cause in the past I have seen posts where girls didn't make the min and had to pay.

Yes I would also get the smallest minimun guarantee I could get out of them- I know I'm one that was short by like 5 people and still had to pay for them.
