Just curious, how much ahead of time has/did everyone book for their honeymoon.
We were actually looking to do a two parter. We want to go away for a week following the wedding. Somewhere closer possibly Vegas.
That summer, we were thinking we would go away for two weeks, a 7 night cruise to Greece/Mediter and a few extra days in Italy.
I don't think I have to worry about the second part since we have well over a year to plan, but i'm not sure.

booked mine in early April for Oct 29 departure. Wanted to lock in the airfare price and just get that out of the way.

I booked in Sept for June (a 12 night cruise through the greek islands), but then we wound up changing our minds completely on the location and switched in March (French Polynesia). We had no problems getting what we wanted even with only 3 mos advance notice.

We booked in December for a cruise to the Caribbean (about 9 months in advance), but that is only because we wanted to be eligible for any price reductions.

We booked our HM in January, but I wouldn't do it any earlier than 11 months from your wedding---we actually had to book the HM and then wait for the flights to come out.

I know that we have plenty of time to book epsecially since we aren't going on our real honeymoon for about a year (we figure early May or June. Plus we still have 10 months which is plenty to figure out. I'm just worried that either
a) we'll wait too long and won't be able to do what we want (the most perfect honeymoon cruise we saw was sold out about a year prior)
or
b)We will book too soon and won't get the best prices.
Any thoughts?

IMO-if you know what you want, I would just book it-rather pay a little more but definately have your ideal vacation!

We booked end of March for end October -beg November HM. Knew what we wanted, price was fine. One more thing crossed off the list.

we went on an 11 night meditteranean cruise and then spent time in Rome after- we booked our flight a year in advance-we were using airline miles and they were already booking up! and the cruise was booked through our travel agent about a month, maybe less after the flight was booked- so a year -give or take a week
