Booking RH in less than 6 months...is that possible?
I haven't heard a lot of people mention this, but can you really save a lot of money on booking a RH at last minute. I don't have a big bridal party and I wouldn't have a problem getting everything done in less than 6 months. Has anyone attempted and succeeded? And how much can you really save?
Thanks!!!

I know somebody who did this and yes they got an AMAZING price. Most rh's will give you a lower price if you book it 6 months or less. For the person who i know did it, it was worth it for them since they got an incredible price. They had it a venue in manhattan that is usually VERY pricey and got it at a reasonable price

it seems like a gamble. if you are flexible with date and time of your event it might be worth it.

you can get a deal, since the RH is probably looking to fill the date.. BUT it might be hard for you to find vendors that you want that are available on your day

I don't know if you actually save but I booked my hall the end of july for a Feb wedding which is about six monts and a week and I am getting for $55pp. Now that price also has to do with the fact that I am getting married in an off season. The RH may cut you a deal if they are trying to fill spots so shop around and see what they say.
Good Luck

We went to the Fox Hollow on September 16th 2008 to book a date for 2009. They offered us a rate of $55 for a Friday in April ($20 less pp than we're paying for our date!). I can vouch for Fox Hollow because i saw it with my own eyes.
Definitely check them out.

Thanks ladies!!!!!
Although I selected a date here on LIW for 2010, FH and I have not set in stone our date. So we are way flexible!!! He would rather do it the sooner the better... (I just find that funny....usually it is us ladies that want to get married ASAP.)
I guess it doesn't hurt to try to see what is available out there.

I didn't take it, I got nervous about the time line and booked for September. FH saw the dollar signs and REALLY pushed hard for it though.

he is a smart man he probably realizes how it is during the planning phase and all the craziness to deal with and thought 'oh no i am not dealing with that for 1-2 years'

I would definitely check them out again....I went there for an appt on a Sunday a couple of months ago and they kind of left a sour taste in my mouth...I was on time for my appt and there was no one in the office to meet me and my MOH, who accompanied me. The BM's there told me the person who was to meet me was off that day. That truly made me . But if they were to give a good price I am willing to forget. Might as well try it again. Thanks!!

When we were looking for rhs, we were originally looking to book and have a wedding in 8 months. We got so many offers if we could do it in less than 6 months. Two places we visited, offered us almost 20 dollars less a person for dates they hadn't filled. I think its a great option.

That's exactly it!!! He confessed later on that he wanted to shorten the engagement phase to minimize the craziness.

I know right!!! He doesn't want to know about my RH escapades until I have narrowed it down to 7. That is when he will go with me to all 7 and we will make our decision. I definitely think it is a smart move on his part, because you know guys they hate to go shopping around. At least this part of the wedding plans won't burn him out.

Yea, give them another shot. We didn't have an appointment with a particular person, we were escorted to the waiting area and had fruit and wine while we waited.
Have a drink...it will all go over much easier Their food and service is fantastic. Let us know how you make out!

Re: Booking RH in less than 6 months...is that possible?
My appointment was on a Saturday at 4pm. We had been to 3 other appointments earlier and then the Westbury Manor afterwards....exhausting but mission accomplished!
4pm seemed like a good time, wasn't crazy and there was a wedding going on which we got to peek in on from upstairs.
