booking room questions!!

Im getting married at the church near me.....then goin to the Carlyle for my reception.
For the OOT guests i wanna book a hotel close to somewhere~!!!!! LOL

If you are doin the ceremony and reception at 2 seperate places....where are you booking the hotel??? Closer to the church? Or to the reception hall???

Help!!!!!

Usually you book rooms at a hotel that's near the reception, that way they are close to the last place they'll be.

I think you should book the hotel closer to the reception...at the end of the day/night, they will want to be closer to where they are staying than further... I would think anyway. I would book near reception.

Closest to the reception hall...I figure I would rather have my guests driving a shorter distance after a night of partying...Plus if you have a gap, people that go to the church that want to return to the hotel can kill some time doing so!

i agree! Our church is Hicksvill and our reception is in Wading river(yikes!) and we blocked rooms by the reception place!

I would say the reception hall that way if you drink to much your not too far-- and if you are tired you can get back faster and rest

closer to the reception- they will want to party- or after party- near there - so thats my recommendation.

my church is in dix hills- exit 51 on the lie

the reception is exit 63 - and thats where my hotel block off is as well

We've got the same situation, church near us, Carlyle reception...we blocked rooms at teh Huntington Hilton b/c it's about 10 mins from Carlyle, they also offer a shuttle bus that will bring your guests to and from the Carlyle. And, their bar stays open late so we can keep the party going.

Another hotel somewhat nearby is the Marriot in Melville, but their bar closes early.
