It really depends on where you are looking to go. I ould at least start to narrow it down to a location and a few hotels you like. Since you have time you can do this in lil' steps. I ended up booking about 9 months out. But if you book early you can start paying it down.

I would def start looking around the 1 year to go mark. At least narrow it down and then start speaking to a travel agent.
