Ok... so i booked the RH, trying to book my church (if my priest will ever call me back).. now my next question is regarding how quickly to start booking vendors...
My banquet manager at the RH mentioned to me that i should book a DJ and photographer quickly because their rates might go up, but i don't know if this is the case or if i have time to at least wait a bit (i dont know if i can afford putting down tons of deposits all in the same month! lol) i dont even know if some of them are booking 2010 dates yet...
what has everyone booked and how quickly after booking your RH did you book w/ them?

I booked my RH (which is where my ceremony will be also) in February.
This month I booked my Florist and Photo/video. At the Florist it is a preferred vendor of the hall so i got 20% off, plus being that i am booking soo early they gave me another discount. My Photo/video i booked with Thomas Paul and i love his work and i know that he gets booked fast, so i wanted to make sure that i had that booked.
Its all about your personal preference and what you are comfortable with.

There were certain vendors that book quickly...So far we have booked the rh and the church, and the photo/videographer. I feel like we will get the best prices now and be able to have our choice of vendors. We will probably book the dj within a few months, but im probably not going to book limos or flowers til next year.

We booked our date with our RH/Ceremony in 2007. Our BM told us the same thing about booking vendors because prices go up. We booked most of our major vendors last month.

So far we booked the most important ones- RH and church. To us, photography is the most important, as well as DJ so those will be first we book! I'm not into flowers and dont really care so much about them so that we probably wont book until next year.

Some of the vendors book quickly, we booked our photo and video not to long after we booked our hall, but we also went with a very popular vendor. We havent looked into DJs yet, but we may start soon.

If I were you, i'd try to book a photographer followed by a videographer first...I think those are the most popular vendors...I know my photographer is booking for 2010, they are almost completely booked up for 2009 already!

We booked RH, church and we just got our band. We want to book the photographer/video. sometime in June. Im going to wait for everything else till probably next year this time
