Anyone ever listen to these? I decided to pick one up to listen to on my long commute - I just don't know if I have the attention span to listen to it. I'm going to start tomorrow morning with Empire Falls by Richard Russo.

Re: Books on tape/CD?
I have done this a lot for my hour commute - I really like it, unless it's a book I have to pay too close of attention to. In that case it's hard because if I miss a little, it's hard to rewind and find where my mind started wandering.

Re: Books on tape/CD?
I do these ALL the time. I work on a computer all day, and my hobby is cross stitching. So my eyes are usually so tired and reading is just another strain on them. So most of the 'reading' I do is on tape or CD. I actually listen to them while I'm stitching.
I prefer the CDs, because it's much easier to find your place again if you need to. The sound quality is better, too. Unfortunately, not all books come on CD yet, so I still have to get the tapes, too.
I 'rent' them from a place called Recorded Books, Inc. It can be a bit pricey (About 20 dollars to rent one book for one month). But to me, it's worth it.
