Bora Bora/Moorea HM Pricing????

We are about to book our hm! Let me know your thoughts...

JFK to LAX to Papeete arrive 9:30pm
1 night Manava Suites Tahiti
Ferry to Moorea
5 nights Hilton Moorea Deluxe Garden Bungalow w/ private pool (incl bkfst)
champagne on arrival
4x4 Jeep tour Moorea
Flight to Bora Bora
6 nights St,. Regis Bora Bora overwater bungalow (incl bkfst)
champagne on arrival
Dinner at Bloody Mary's incl
50 min couples massage incl

With insurance it will be about $12,500....is that good? normal? bad? I negotiated with two agents and had them basically compete.

I will of course make a reservation at Villa Manhana and ask for the top table :)

It actually isn't as bad as everybody thinks. Our friends spent $10k to go to Hawaii!

It all depends on the star rating of your hotel too. How many nights, what type of room, etc. I mean, this is the St. Regis where Couples Retreat was filmed and Nicole Kidman honeymooned :)

One thing i would look into would be staying in bora bora a little longer, i have read posts of people who have gone and who regretted spending so much time in moorea

I know a few people who went and are going back and they are skipping moorea all together just beacause it cant compare to bora bora.


I would look into 3 or 4 nigthts in moorea, and 7 or 8 nights in bora bora

Yes, good price, I am going for the same amount of days, half in Bora Bora (over the water bungalow) and half in Tikehau (over the water suite) and I am paying slightly more.

Unfortunately that is how much French Polynesia costs.

Yes, for both of us and it includes all flights, transfers, breakfast etc

You can get even a lower quote depending on the hotel you pick. I know IC Le Moana, Pearl & Hilton are a lot less expensive. This is for the St. Regis Bora Bora which is def up there in price.

I would suggest looking into the OVERNIGHT flight from LAX to PPT, and skipping Manava Suites altogether. They do say Bora Bora is more beautiful, but there are SO MANY activities to do in Moorea and you should try to be there for at least 5 nights.... if you can

I asked our agent about the overnight flight and she said that they couldnt guarantee an early check in at the Moorea hotel. We would get in at like 730am and prob wouldnt have a room for hours. After such a long travel and jet lag I want to crash. It would only save $200 anyway.

Maybe we will just keep it 5 nights Moorea and 6 nights Bora Bora???

If we do the overnight flight, 4 nights moorea and 7 nights bora bora its only a few hundred dollars more!!

at this rate we may end up doing 7 nights and 7 nights! we are getting a great price espec compared to other trips i'm hearing about and our hotels are nicer
