So many great ideas...wondering what you think of this...
I did this last year on another site where people live all across the country so we just mailed the gift - everyone agreed to mail it via priority with tracking and there was a deadline date so everyone would have their gift on time. I was wondering if we applied this idea (which someone here already mentioned) and then further it by adding that we can arrange a GTG that works best for everyone and bring our presents (that we received in the mail) with us. Now right off the bat is seems silly to mail it and then bring it but it would be helpful for those people who cannot make it or who have last minute plans. The holidays are so hard to predict that even if we do our best to plan now - something will inevitably come up. This way...those who can make it can bring it and we open them together but those who cannot make it will have their gift to open - maybe on the actual holiday.
Just an idea.

The potluck sounds great-- although like some others I would prefer if it's not in the city... I would offer a place but I don't have one! LOL... also, I saw the dates for the possible GTG, if we pick the Saturday date (11), would it be a daytime thing or night? If the potluck doesn't work out and we want to go out and meet somewhere, I wonder if it would be easier to find an emptier place around 3 or so instead of 7...?

I'd be okay with doing an afternoon, early evening thing - especially if it's futher away, so i could at least get there in the day (my sense of direction in NY has faded in the last 4 years...)
i'm pretty much okay with whatever you all decide

I think either Mailing or bringing would be ok.
WE are mailing them on the NWR board, so Mailing is fine.. as Ang said, this way ppl who can't make the GTG won't miss out on their gift! yeah presents!
