boston burglars or good clean fun

has anyone ever heard either of these two bands? any thoughts?

friend of my FH had Boston Burglars play at their wedding at The Waldorf 10 years ago. RAved about them.

I went on their website and was less than impressed with the audioclips I heard there. But that's not really fair of me! You can't honestly judge a band without seeing them. We were just pressed for time and couldn't go see another band. So my advice is check out their website and make time to go see them if you want -- http://www.bostonburglars.com

Another really good Irish band (if that's what you're looking for), according to my FH is the Cunningham Brothers. VERY popular band that's been around Woodside Queens (home of tons of Irish) for years. My FH grew up in Woodside and recently saw them play at an event -- he & all the guests (including the women) said they were fantastic! The band leader Jim Cunningham also represents another band (who, to be honest, probably can't compare). They were booked on our date. http://www.carouselentertainment.com/

Boston Burglars play alot. Why don't you see if they are playing near you anytime soon.

I don't think I've ever seen Good Clean Fun

Another band suggestion is The NY Showband. A girl I know had them & said they were great.

The other band that Jim Cunnigham is in is called Summer Wind. They are fantastic. We booked them for our wedding, blown away at the showcase. They do lively Irish music and tons of other music. Anything you want, they will learn.

Good clean fun are very very good - they play in Yonkers alot (the irish bars). I have heard of the Boston Burglars and I know they do alot of the irish county dances in the Bronx/Yonkers/Queens/LI but I have never heard them. But I've seen GCF a few times and I really like them.

Irish wedding?

Edited to add: these bands don't play ONLY irish music. Where I see them it's heavily irish area so they do a few but they do rock and dance music - they are a 'wedding band' so I know they do all sorts of music. I think BB also advertises as a wedding band too. Didn't want you thinking they only do irish.

Another good band that play weddings (ie: all sorts of music) plus any irish songs (if you want to hear that) is Shannon Breeze. They are like Good Clean Fun in terms of what they play.

If you want to get their number they usually post an ad in the Irish Echo or Irish Voice.

GCF is FANTASTIC, we might book them

Cunningham Bros. - I was at a wedding last night and they played. At the last 5 weddings I've been to, they've played, they are always amazing.

Boston Burglars - IMHO they are not as good as GCF or Cunningham bros.

Shannon Breeze - They are pretty good.

Good Clean Fun is playing at my wedding and I couldn't be happier. they are the nicest people and the music is great! they are also very affordable in comparison to a lot of other wedding bands.

FM if you need any info. or info. on other Irish bands (if that's what your'e looking for)
