Just wanna say I hate how sloppy the Red Sox look .. they need haircuts & shaves!

I totally agree, Pedro resembles Michael Jackson. That's one thing about our Yanks, Steinbrenner likes them clean cut!

Thats so funny that you said that! My DH and I were talking about that last night. We live in Chicago now and everyone here is either a Sox fan or just anti-Yankee - it gets so old. I just walked into work today wearing my NY Yanks' Hat!!!

David Wells is really the only player I can remember being with the Yanks who had facial hair .. but he still kept it nice & clean & trimmed.

I agree....NYY look so clean and put together...When my girls play softball, I make sure that their uniforms are neat and clean. Those with long hair must pull it back in a pony tail. Light make-up only....I don't let them look unprofessional.

I disagree. The yanks are all clean shaven and neat because THEY ARE TOLD to do so by the Boss. Its not by choice.

Ever since they told Giambi to lose the facial hair and longer hair he had on the A's and shave it all off to come to the Yanks... the Yanks have totally lost their image.

Good for George! If those guys are gonna get paid big bucks .. why should they look like bums?? I think most people are aware it's team policy to be clean shaven with short hair and neat .. David Wells is the only player I can remember who kept facial hair while playing on the Yankees.

So they are required to be neat, clean, etc. It does make them look more professional even if they are told to do so.

I like that the baseball players are scruffy and manly. Actually I was just telling that to DH last night. I don't like the clean shaved because I have to be and it's all about appearance Yankees (agreeing withDJPill). This is baseball not the runway - you are out there getting sweaty and dirty - who cares about facial hair or long hair? I do think Johnny Damon needs to visit the barber because it is a little much but if it his style then all the power to him.

And about Pedro and Michael Jackson - DH said that same comment last night - lol.

George has always made the players have a clean cut image. It was well before Giambi came. They made Wells have neat facial hair. They made Donnie Baseball keep it neat also. He wants the players to look professional. I for one think it's great that they all look neat and clean.

It's a small price to pay to shave daily and have short hair, I think!

You can grow and beard and let your hair grow on the off season. but if you sign a contract for X millions of dollars for X amount of years, I think that being asked to shave/cut hair is not that big of a deal.
