Anyone know of a reputable breeder in NY or NJ? FH and I are thinking of getting one and I don't want one from a puppy mill/store. Suggestions?

Re: Boston Terrier breeder
Look up the local boston terrier clubs and they usually have someone within the club that can connect you with someone who has extra pups in their litter the will not be showing. You can also try a boston terrier rescue.
Do not buy a puppy online or without visiting the breeders home.
Good luck

Just to warn you..Terriers can be a bit high strung...high energy dogs...i know because I have a terrier mix rescue mutt...and although i love her to death...she is a nut. Barks at every freakin thing that she can see from the front window...she is very sweet with us but has issues with some of my friends...just barking her head off at them. Now of course some of her issues can be related to her being a rescue and how she was treated in the past.
I also have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is just wonderful. Very docile, loving dog that barks when necsessary and likes to play...but doesn't bounce off the walls..haha.
Even the vet said Terriers can be a 'tough' breed with their behavior sometimes.

my friend has one and is very knowledgable about finding a pure breeder. I'll ask them because they have one.

it's not just yours - they're known for their HIGH energy. My old roommate had a BT and it ate all the carpet off the stairs (ergo our calling her a 'carpet muncher') and she constantly chewed shoes, jumped off the top of the couch and ran up and down the stairs over and over!!
They're very bright dogs but they need to be TRAINED. I know another couple with one and it's the most obedient pup you'd ever see... but they worked a lot with their BT.
