Hey, my FH just moved back home last wknd to save $ for the wedding and stuff. I live at home too now. Does anyone have advice on some nice, cheap nights away on the Island? Even the City will do once in a while! This is going to be a tough year for both of us.

What is home for both of you? Are you very far away from each other? I live in commack and FH lives in queens. We only see each other on weekends, he comes and stays over my house.

That is one of the MAIN reasons FH got his own apartment! It really ***** and nothing around the city is cheap, but check out hotwire every once in awhile. We went through that when we were in college. We saw each other so rarely and mostly it was here, where we were both staying with our parents, which sucked!

I know that feeling... FH doesn't live with his family, but he has a roomate. In a studio apartment. We NEVER get any private time unless my parents AND brother go somewhere or the even more rare occasion that his roomate is not there. Its really stinky.

We both live at home too...sometimes I will stay over his house and I still lie to my mom and say we just fell asleep or he wasn't feeling well....My mom is old fashioned I guess...we never stay over in hotels..

Re: Both Living at home?
FH & I live apart too & with his work schedules, we only manage to see each other on the weekends...I am really looking forward to living together...We try to do the hotel thing every couple of months...We usually stay at the Marriott in Uniondale..Sometimes you can get a rate of $100-125...For us, that money is worth it....I am sure there are cheaper places...
what about a weekend away in PA??? We do that often but not lately...FH parent's own a home in the Poconos, but there are many cheap hotels up there to stay & it is only 2 hours from LI!

YUP! Don't waste your money. You wouldn't wanna put your bare butt on any of the sheets or toilet seats there. Sorry ladies, but that's the way it is.

we live seperately too. Both sets of parents are very strict, and out of respect for their wishes, we won't live together til we're married.

LOL Try the Commack Motor Inn, I've always wanted to know what goes on at that place. Or actually I am pretty sure I know what goes on, but I want to know just how skeevy it is!
