Bottle sterilizing...

Do you really need a bottle sterilizer? How else can you sterilize bottles?

I keep arguing with my mother about the type of bottle we're going to use. I keep saying we're not sure yet, we want to try a few of them. But she INSISTS on us using the disposable Playtex one's. She's really giving me a hard time about this. She can't believe that we might want to use regular bottles that you have to sterilize.

AAAAaaaaaaahhh!!!

I didn't buy a sterilizer (they want $50 and over for some of them) -- I just put them in a big pot and sterilize them that way. I did buy the thing that goes in the pot so that I can pull them out and drain the water all at once instead of one by one (it has a name, but I have no clue -- it's $9.99 in BRU and it's by Especially for Baby).

I use the Avent bottles and Gianna loves them. I tried the Dr. Brown's and Evenflo and she hated both of them. So I have a cabinet full of brand new bottles that won't be used!!

just boil them up in a big pot..and buy a new pair of tongs so you can pull them out....

BTW we use playtex and it's true- they are easy to use...but u have to try out all types until find one u like. we were lucky I guess since we only had the playtex and she loves them

The top shelf of the dishwasher is also safe for bottles and they are considered sterile after they go through it.
